@TimWhelan6 @kristinaennis Believe it or not, buying a private jet is actually the ‘affordable’ part. Owning and operating it is where it gets really expensive. Over the course of a few years that $21M would have ballooned quickly.

@kristinaennis For sure but the sponsorship was 171 thousand vs 21 million. A slight margin that the taxpayers are on the hook for. Both were poor decisions.

@kristinaennis Safe to assume you’re joking in your framing… but still… $170k advertising/sponsorship agreement bears zero similarities to the jet. I’m not defending or even opining on the sponsorship decision. $170k wouldn’t cover the ownership costs of that jet for a single month.

@JohnRiche Put another way, NL based company earned 96% of profits from rate payers in New York, Arizona, Michigan, Alberta, BC and other jurisdictions and chooses to remain headquartered in St John’s.

Obviously not. They would negotiate access through a commercial agreement.

@NiteFlightJason @TedBlades @VOCMOpenline You talk about the grid like it’s some intangible asset… the grid (transmission) is a complex and incredibly expensive network of physical assets that cost money to build. More than 50% of the cost of the MF project was transmission.

Just heard another caller on @VOCMOpenline saying we need to find other partners to develop Gull Island. - Quebec's not our only option! How that would work? Have you looked at a map? All transmission lines go through Quebec. Hydro Quebec will always own 1/3 of Churchill Falls.

If this MOU dies because of partisan politics, interprovincial grudges and misinformation, this will be as big a mistake as the original CF PPA or MF. @kristinaennis I’ve noticed a lot of ridiculous tinted front windows lately. Obviously illegal and obviously dangerous. This isn’t Phoenix or Dubai… there is no practical reason for that level of tinting in our climate… let alone it’s illegal. Seems like an easy problem for the RNC to solve.

How are there taxis around town that have been inspected and licensed but still have illegal window tinting The root of my disgruntlement here is that we have rules for safety and they are only sometimes enforced. This isn’t the only one either.

Trudeau posts an innocent tweet remembering the Humboldt tragedy and the venom he still attracts is brutal. He’s gone, you won what is the point of continued nastiness? If he was making a policy comment I’d get it but he’s remembering a national disaster. C’mon!
