Your “perfect” ad will always die.
Every ad, no matter how strong, goes through a predictable lifecycle.
Spot the cycle early, and you’ll protect your ROAS instead of watching it tank.
After running hundreds of accounts, here’s the pattern I see again and again:
1. Frequency creeping up
- Low frequency + strong results = you’re still hitting top-of-funnel audiences.
- Once frequency climbs and results drop, it’s a signal your audience pool is shrinking.
2. CPA rising
- A 20–40% jump? Prep new variations.
- A 50%+ spike? Time to swap in fresh angles.
3. Hook rate dropping
- If fewer than 1 in 4 people engage with your opening, refresh your creative.
4. ROAS sliding
- A 30% dip means pause, analyze, and redirect spend.
That’s why 90% of “evergreen” ads we make aren’t really evergreen.
They survive because we keep feeding them new personas, hooks, and angles from day one.
That’s the difference between brands that burn money chasing a “perfect” creative and brands that build a solid revenue system.
