After a gap of more than six years, I am back to #FieldPolicing. As I look forward to the new responsibility assigned to me as IG, Magadh Range, headquartered at Gaya Ji, my foremost priority, as always, will be to ensure the firm and impartial upholding of the Rule of Law by the Police — with complete neutrality, and without any fear or favour. During my career as a Field Police Officer, I have always adhered to a policy of Zero Tolerance against: 1. Non-registration of FIRs and misleading the public 2. Minimisation of crime heads during registration 3. Failure to immediately inform the SP/Senior Officers about any crime or major development 4. Extortion by Police personnel 5. Lack of neutrality by Police while dealing with complaints If any such issue comes to my notice and the intentional role of the Officer-in-Charge is prima facie established, the automatic course of action shall be immediate suspension of the concerned officer by the SP/IG, followed by departmental proceedings — without any compromise, dilution, or exception. Priority areas shall include effective crime control with special focus on property offences; strengthening of night patrolling; ensuring lawful, impartial and preventive police action in land disputes; expeditious disposal of processes and cases pending investigation; removal of encroachments and resolution of traffic issues; stringent action against illicit liquor trade; and adoption of a Zero Tolerance policy towards unlawful road blockades, with compulsory registration of FIR against perpetrators irrespective of circumstances. Further, all Police Stations shall establish a Senior Citizens’ Cell for regular interaction and assistance to elderly citizens. In order to strengthen community policing and public confidence, a Public–Police Dialogue programme shall also be organised on the First Saturday of every month at an open public place within the Police Station jurisdiction, where grievances, local issues, and suggestions from citizens may be heard and addressed. Special emphasis shall be laid on providing prompt relief to complainants with complete fairness, neutrality, and sensitivity. Surprise inspections of Police Stations shall be conducted during night hours, particularly to inspect lock-ups and ensure that no illegal detention or any form of extortionary practice is taking place. Focus shall consistently remain on strengthening routine policing, improving police infrastructure, and enhancing the overall efficiency and responsiveness of the force. Simultaneously, sincere efforts shall be made towards the welfare, motivation, and professional well-being of all personnel serving under my command. Apart from regular office hours, I shall remain available round the clock for hearing and addressing public grievances. With the cooperation of officers, personnel, and the people of the region, I hope to discharge my responsibilities to the best of my capacity and live up to the expectations of the people of the Magadh Range.
