Special shout-out to all my school admin friends now entering the year-end ABC season: Awards, Banquets, and Concerts!

It was an absolute honor to stand in for my coach, colleague, mentor, and friend, the late Coach Norvell Lee, at the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame induction. Such a well-deserved honor for Coach!

In addition to returning from the moon yesterday, what do Christina Koch, Jeremy Hansen, Reid Wiseman & Victor Glover have in common? All attended public schools. Specialist Koch in NC followed by NC State. Public schools send kids to the moon or anywhere else they want to go!

The interlocking NC logo has represented the people of NC for centuries, a symbol stitched into our history and carried forward by generations of Tar Heels. #UNC continues to lead NC forward through discovery, partnership and opportunity — First. And For All.

The NC Education Cabinet was created to bring about strategic partnership for all of the state’s education providers. Nothing is more important to the future of our state than investing in our young people.

I lived in Eastern Wake County for 21 years and have so many memories of Mudcats games and other events at Five County Stadium. The @CarolinaMudcats were such fantastic community partners as well. Truly the end of an era. You will be missed.

Exactly. I'm a Cubs fan because WGN showed all the afternoon home games in Wrigley before it had lights, and Ryno was my first Cubs hero. RIP to the first Chicago sports legend to wear #23 in the 80s.

The summer baseball trip tradition continues!

This is one of my all-time favorite definitions of being a great teammate and a great human. Celebrate others. Root for their success. Be genuinely happy when good things happen to someone else. That’s what good people, and great teams, do.

Enjoyed my time today with Lions from all across North Carolina in earning my KidSight USA vision screening certification. NC Lions screened nearly 50,000 young people last year and referred almost 7,000 for follow-up care in service of Lions' mission to prevent blindness.

Facebook reminded me that five years ago this week, my amazing AP and I drove 500+ miles over 2 days to deliver t-shirts and yard signs to our staff for staff appreciation week when school was closed. One of the most instructive things I've ever done... 1/2

So sad to hear this. One of my first college experiences was taking music lessons at St. Andrews when I was a youngster in the 1970s. A crushing blow to Laurinburg and the Sandhills.
