Achieving the monocoque is not easy. First we make smooth and aerodynamic negative moulds then we infuse carbon fibre layers on them, using a resin and foam to harden the structure. The whole infusion process can take up to 24 hours!

@PSEM_Portugal @pod_movement The nose of the car might be a bit high pushing to much air underneath, for reference Firebird drag is 10N at 38mph

@pod_movement Maybe the drag force value will be more informative than the Cd. For this car (GP17), it was 13N at about 55kph. What do you think are the reasons for it being a bit higher than it should? 🤔

It is the golden hour for our aerodynamics. Our newest model produces only 11.9 N of drag at 13.5 m/s. This is considering our first design was producing around 24-25 N of drag. We already have plans for sub 10 N ;) @SimScale @Greenpowertrust #engineering #STEM #greenpower

@pod_movement If you had it at the very tip of the nose you would reduce the pressure build up on the nose, like they do on F1 cars

@cliveallen92 We are playing with taking the air through the body for cooling or even helping with airflow at other points around the car. However we have had a few people that say the hole itself causes drag so it may disappear later in the season.
