@TweetsbyCoachP Everyone has a role to play, you may not like the role, but it is the one the team needs. Star in your role because this is exactly what college looks like for 99% of the players who make it to the next level.

I often see parents complaining about the ridiculous prices of AAU tournaments - and honestly, they’re completely right. The cost of hotels, food, gas, & tournament fees has gotten out of control. With that said, parents also don’t need to be at every single game. Many high-level AAU programs travel to events without large parent groups following them around, and the players survive just fine. In some cases, kids actually play better when they’re able to compete independently without feeling like every possession is being analyzed from the bleachers. You drop your kid off at school every day and leave - and that’s far more important than a weekend basketball game. Part of sports is learning responsibility, confidence, independence, and how to compete without needing mom and dad sitting courtside every possession.
