@Daniellellellle We absolutely do not need billionaires using the women's football as their play thing. Show me a men's club owned by a billionaire (and complying with the FFP) doing well and fans being happy.

@zerthezer @GxlDeDragoni @ChelseaShurrle But not a small club. Big club, relying on the accademy because in Spain FFP rules are actually enforced. Also using the sustainable budgeting model (not cooking the books like Chelsea)

I do enjoy Barcelona’s way of creating a narrative that they’re poor and fighting the riches every season despite having a breakdown earlier on this season because Michelle Kang dared to call Trinity Rodman the highest paid player in the world.

@zerthezer @GxlDeDragoni @ChelseaShurrle In the summer the only signing was Laia (former La Masia player). Started the season with 17 first team players. Promoted 3 B team players - to ensure complying with Liga F rules. Aicha, Serrajordi, Sydney promoted. Just 20 regular players.

@CFCWires @Hungoverr1 The roof installation starts in the summer of 2027. That is AFTER the 26/27 season. The construction lasts until January 2028.

@RealDanYohannes How does it help along with the "growth of the womens football" that she went and poached 10+ people from Barça, in one year? Club being owned a billionaire - how can you as a fan be sure that billionaire would not get bored and move the money into Trump Golden Phones instead?

@comakazi In hindsight, I agree with you, but I really do not believe that is Kang’s intention.

For all the short-sighted and frankly misguided comments undermining the effort to grow the women’s game because Michele Kang is investing heavily in women’s football to raise standards: for the record, #Barcelona and #Lyon operate within a fairly similar overall salary range in women’s football, roughly €7–10 million annually. The difference is that Barcelona tends to carry a larger squad, often on the bench, while Lyon concentrates a greater share of its payroll on elite veteran players. UPDATE: To avoid controversy and celebrate the championship of Barca, i have removed my comment to keep celebrating this moment for Barca fans. It was not done with bad intention. Peace!!

@RealDanYohannes Her entering the football ecosystem in Europe was accompanied by couple of profile pieces in the media. Those especially mentioned that people who advised her / she got her info from were Textor and Boehly. Those are finance bros, not in it for the love of the Football.

@CFCWires @Hungoverr1 @ChelseaShurrle No internet at where you live? Femeni played twice at Camp nou this season, earned 2 million profit from that. Meanwhile...who owns Stamford Bridge? Are you aware your club is leasing it?

@CFCWires @cristinasolmos1 So you are not aware of the Chelsea's debts and the nadaplete accompanying said debt? Not aware how much Chelsea owes in transfer fees? Not aware you are obligated to pay back part of the debt for which you do not have any money? Living under a rock then?

@cristinasolmos1 you're broke because your board throw money at anything and everything, you owe hundreds of millions in transfer fees and couldn't register players because of it, the consistency is that your board waste money and that's why you're broke as fuck

It’s hard to call it a fake narrative when the women's team literally had to sacrifice their squad depth to fix the wider club budget. They started the season with only 17 first-team players because of wage limit restrictions. The players have every right to point out that they are maintaining a top-tier level despite having a much thinner squad than other top European clubs. Also last time I checked rivals are the ones that called the club Brokelona

@RealDanYohannes One of the madam Investors first plans was to close down the youth section. Apparently was talked out of that. No billionaire is in it for the good of the game. The plan is to raise the assets value on the paper and then offload it to some investment firm, collecting the profit

I understand the point behind “money isn’t everything,” and I agree that passion, culture, teamwork, and fan support matter enormously in football. My issue was more with how some comments came across dismissive toward investment in the women’s game, especially when that investment is helping raise standards and opportunities overall which is needed now more than ever as there is a momentum.

@RealDanYohannes Men's football in large part is a pyramid scheme and contains a lot of scheming, especially look at multi-club enterprises. Snowball effect - tickets becoming unattainable for an average fan, games divided between several expensive streaming platforms, jersey prices over 100€

That’s a fair point regarding multi-club ownership, and I understand why people are cautious about it. My comment was specifically about the criticism of investment levels and salaries, not about whether multi-club models should exist (which if done pro early benefits the women’s game) or how they should be regulated. Those are two separate discussions.
