I can see the benefits of the $8000 up front vs $99/mo only if the FSD would be transferable to a new future Tesla purchase. $8000 is equal to just under 7yrs at the current $99 subscription proposal. At that point you would be possibly ready to trade the vehicle in. Carrying over the FSD to new vehicle will build brand loyalty and increase sales before the Feb 14 deadline.

I should also mention that the $99/month for supervised FSD will rise as FSD’s capabilities improve. The massive value jump is when you can be on your phone or sleeping for the entire ride (unsupervised FSD).
