@sokane1 They use it on a few test vehicles when validating autopilot/FSD changes. It's not in any consumer cars. It just lets them verify that the camera system is accurate by having something to compare to.

This is what happened: Omar and I posted an article from @theinformation last night that we saw online. It was a public article that referenced an internal Tesla email from Elon Musk to his executives.

How do we think about $TSLA at $165? Absent a $25-$30K EV until early 2026 to fight the plethora of $25K-$30K competing EVs and a nascent TSLA advertising strategy, it’s hard to be bullish. TSLA can cut prices on M-3 in the interim but there’s limited inventory on M-3 Highland so price cuts don’t make a lot of sense. FSD v12.3.3 is a nice add-on that can sell more Teslas, but not at $12K or $199/month. Using $AAPL as an analogy, the most appropriate sales strategy may be expanded comms to ICE users to convince them to go EV: Lower upfront and ongoing costs, charging convenience, better tech, near-autonomy (with proper disclosures), safer, good for the environment, etc.

Tesla deployed a record 4,053 MWh of energy storage products in Q1 2024. In comparison, Tesla deployed 3,889 MWh in Q1 2023 and 3,202 MWh in Q4 2023. While Tesla's EV growth is on pause, energy storage is still surging and should surge even more throughout the year as Lathrop's Megafactory is still ramping and Megafactory Shanghai could come online fast. However, don't expect this to make a significant difference in Tesla's financials. Tesla's $$$ is still driven by automotive, and this is going to be a bloodbath this quarter. $TSLA $TSLAQ Maybe it's time to look at the leadership/board?

BREAKING You might not own an electric vehicle by 2032, after all. The EPA is *easing* its emissions rule ramp-up after major concerns from the car industry. Percentage of EVs by 2032: Previous plan: 67% Current plan: 30-56% Dealers and consumers - how do you feel about this? Tell me below. Will compile responses and summarize sentiment. @nntaleb Looks entirely confounded. Babies driven home in Mercedes live longer. People who drink champagne every day live longer. Etc. IF has no special benefits, but also this "study" is whack. Overweight people have more heart attacks and also try things like fasting to lose weight.

$TSLA FY’24 EPS has dropped to $2.98 (-47% past 12 months), FY’25 to $3.98 (-39%), and FY’28 EPS to $11.82 (-28%). Averaging these, one can say TSLA has lost -38% of its earnings power over the past 12 months. Long-term earnings drive valuation and stock prices. TSLA FY’24 P/E is now 55x ($164/$2.98 = 55x). TSLA FY’25 P/E is now 41x ($164/$3.98 = 41x). Both are highest among Mag 7 stocks. TSLA WS 5-year forward volume and eps growth rates are now +18% CAGR and +29% CAGR respectively. TSLA 2024 PEG is now 55x/29% = 1.9x PEG, so avg for the Mag 7 (AAPL 2.6x PEG, NVDA 1.5x PEG, GOOGL 1.3x PEG).

Don’t be that guy who thinks that FSD and Ford’s Blue cruise are the same thing. I am a fan of blue cruise and it’s great for roadtrips, but it only works on pre-mapped highways. FSD works on every single road, and it will navigate for you. It’s not perfect, but it’s clearly on a different level of drivers assist than blue cruise. Either Zach knows better but chooses to spread misinformation, or he somehow still hasn’t grasped the differences despite using both extensively. Not sure which is worse.

Elon used to be Tesla. He’s not any longer. Now, Elon is X. He is most valuable to Space X but NOT Tesla any longer. Tesla would thrive without him being tied to the company. He can then continue his X ranting and we’d then care less from a shareholder perspective. It’s time for him to step down or step up. $tsla

Study: After analyzing 80,306 adults aged ≥30 years, with 5,763 deaths over 736,463 person-years of follow-up, researchers found that doing at least 2 sessions of strength training per week was associated with 23% lower all-cause mortality risk and 31% lower cancer mortality risk. A dose-response relationship was observed as well--higher volume/frequency of strength training was linked to greater reductions in mortality. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29099919/

Tesla paid no federal income taxes while paying executives $2.5 billion over five years. This is going to be blasted all over the media the next number of days. The media just digs for information on $TSLA to hurt the company and Elon. yahoo.com/tech/tesla-pai… via @Yahoo

Refresh Model 3 would be substantially better and easier to recommend if it had stalks. The only true negative I can come up with for this car. (Assuming the form factor generally meets your needs)
