My dad got tickets to The Masters one year and took a friend of his. Apparently they were walking around the grounds, marveling at Augusta's beauty and what have you. Normal stuff for a really cool experience. At some point, they got hungry, so of course went to get some food. Everything was inexpensive, great. Part of the charm. My dad told his friend he had to get the pimento cheese, because that's *the* thing to do at the Master's (no clue if that's true or not - my dad's words). His friend just said okay, got a pimento cheese, wolfed it down, and that was the end of it. That night, back at their hotel, the friend got ill. Like, deathly ill, getting sick, fever, hives, the whole thing. They went to a hospital and the friend recovered enough for them to drive home. To this point, my dad still had no clue what in the world had happened. By the time my dad drops his friend off at his house back in Arkansas, he said to my dad: "those pimentos will get you!" This man was allergic to pimentos. Ate the pimento cheese sandwich anyway. When my dad asked why in the world he ate the sandwich anyway, the friend responded with: "I wanted the full Master's experience!" I think of this story every time I see a Master's menu.

"When I saw the reaction to the photo, it was obvious to me that this wasn’t a single event. The photograph was the beginning of something. I felt strongly that this needed to be documented. There was no facade, this was genuine." (Simon Emmett). The Big 12 is a premier basketball conference and Kansas City treats the tournament as such. As someone who went to Arizona State and covered multiple Pac-12 tournaments in Vegas— from a basketball perspective it doesn’t even compare. Also, the fans who are pushing this switch haven’t been here long enough to start making demands.

“Would I want [the Big 12 Tournament] in Vegas? 100%. I didn’t ask to be in the Big 12. We got put in the Big 12. But I love the Big 12.” -Tommy Lloyd

I understand why they're doing it, but it's kind of funny that people who changed the Department of Defense's name to the "Department of War", explaining that real men don't hide behind euphemisms, now refuse to formally acknowledge the obvious fact that America is at war.
CSPAN@cspan

.@SpeakerJohnson after House blocked War Powers Resolution: "We're not at war, we have no intention at being at war. The president and the Department of Defense have made it very clear, this is a limited operation."

Steve Milloy looked at one month in one city, found a 1°F departure from average, and declared victory over physics. Meanwhile his own data table shows exactly the warming trend he's trying to deny. The recent years are right there, Steve. Top half of the column. Keep looking.
Steve Milloy@JunkScience

154 years of global warming down the drain: February 2026 in WashDC was more than 1°F colder than the calendar month average going back to 1872. 154 year of emissions and urban heat island effect couldn't put Climate Dumpty together again. @capitalweather

The American right spent decades trying to deny that this technology worked, and then eventually brute physics is forcing them to admit that yes, it does actually work. Reality denial has limits.

MAGA is learning to love solar -- as the right's anti-solar crusade is making utility bills higher, giving China an advantage in the AI race, and fueling U.S. dependence on imported energy. Key MAGA voices urged a pivot. It is happening. washingtonpost.com/business/2026/…

All those years demagoguing Benghazi and pretending to give a shit about Americans overseas, and now the White House starts a reckless war with Iran and tells everyone trying to escape the chaos that you're on your own.
