What makes the best golf trip? Here are my thoughts: 1) Great friends - I think a group of 4-8 is perfect. You need one guy to be the trip dictator and everyone else to go with the flow. You also want people who are good at being on time. 2) The courses - a stay and play resort where you park your vehicle and everything is right there is best. When that's not possible, having a VRBO where everyone can stay and short travel distance is a good option. 3) Meals - going back to #1, a low maintenance group who doesn't need fancy meals every night makes the best trip. Give me pizza or Panda after a 36 hole day and I'm in heaven. 4) Alcohol - nothing ruins a trip like 1-2 guys who spend the entire trip blitzed. We are here to golf and enjoy camaraderie. Some beers during the round, and a couple drinks at dinner is totally fine. Being drunk the entire trip is a problem. My best trips have been with groups of relatively light drinkers. 5) Games - especially when you have 8 guys, having a few games to play to keep it interesting is a great idea. What am I missing? What have been your best trips?
