Head-to-head matters — but so does context. So does timing. So does momentum. Who you lose to and when you lose absolutely matters in college football. Notre Dame and Miami have the same record. The difference? Notre Dame lost to Miami in Week 1 by 3 points with a QB making his first college start… and then won eight straight and dominated for two months. Miami? They’ve lost two games in the last five weeks — both to unranked teams. That’s not a committee problem. That’s not a schedule problem. That’s a Miami problem. A narrow Week 1 game doesn’t outweigh two late-season bad losses. Rankings reward who you are now, not who you were in September. One team is rising. One team is slipping. That’s why Notre Dame is — and should be — ranked higher. #GoIrish

Notre Dame’s playoff chances SHOULD be in bigger trouble than Miami’s. 1) they lost to Miami (a game that was always in Miami’s control with misleading final). 2) They just faced two teams who chose NOT to compete at 100% (Navy and Pitt). They shouldn’t BENEFIT from not having serious conference foes. 3) Good wins matter more than good losses. There really isn’t a strong case for ND. Discuss!

I worked for @CoryBooker for nearly nine years. What we watched over the last 25 hours as he broke the record for the longest filibuster is exactly who he is. He loves his country. He is incredibly kind and decent. He is gracious and thoughtful. He is who we need in this moment.
