Growing up in America, we are taught from birth to hate socialism. We are told it is the greatest threat to our “freedom,” and most of us believe this lie our entire lives. But some of us wake up and realize under capitalism none of us are free. We are owned by banks, billionaires, and both parties who do their bidding. Propaganda against socialism is a tool our rulers use to keep us obedient and prevent us from questioning how unjust capitalism is. Why should the majority of people spend most of our lives working to enrich a handful of billionaires and corporations? Where is the freedom when billionaires hoard ungodly fortunes through the mass exploitation of our labor and mass extraction of resources that belong to our communities? Where is the freedom when our tax dollars fund endless wars and the killing of children abroad all to further enrich US oligarchs? Where is the freedom when 70% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck and struggle to afford basic needs like housing, healthcare, and groceries? There is no freedom here. We are all prisoners of a corrupt capitalist system that keeps us trapped in the rat race by demonizing the one economic model, socialism, that would put the economy in the hands of the people. Imagine a world where decisions are made to meet the basic needs of the people rather than the endless greed of billionaires. That is socialism, and there is nothing scary about it. What is scary is allowing a handful of billionaires to control our entire economy and make life-or-death decisions for all of humanity. What is even scarier is billionaires and both parties that do their bidding understand their greed has destroyed our society, which is why they are investing so heavily in AI to surveil, replace, and solidify their control over us. If humanity is to have any future, now is the moment to push back and ensure AI is used to benefit all of society, which is only possible by moving from capitalism to socialism.

The US needs social housing, universal health care, and modern infrastructure to compete with China, not data centers. The US government already owned a 9.9% stake in Intel worth over $41 billion. On April 30, Trump posted on Truth Social praising Intel, writing that "Intel Stock continues to rise." My rent is $2,050. I’ve got maybe $3,500 saved after bills. I just nodded and passed the potatoes. But what I wanted to say was: Your retirement existed because companies still offered pensions. Your Social Security works because my generation keeps paying into it. Your home doubled in value while mine feels permanently out of reach. You didn’t crack some secret code. You were born into an economy that hadn’t pulled the ladder up yet.

@AmirAminiMD The strait could be opened by international forces without much of a problem, which means as soon as Trump is gone, the world will get to work. Though it might indeed take that long. Trump's greatest failure in the war with Iran was alienating the US' allies.

Now it’s definitive. Iran will keep the Strait of Hormuz closed for the next 2 or 3 decades. Iran will not negotiate -neither with this nor the next US administration. Iran will emerge as a regional superpower, with or without a nuclear bomb or sanctions relief. The US has a decades long devastating stalemate on its hands. The world will pay a hefty price for the US/IS mistakes. The petrodollar is finished. The UAE is finished. US hegemony is finished. People in the US and around the world will blame and boycott Israel.
