@DustinAshWrites @HwsEleutheroi Yep so not a literal eating and drinking but metaphorically in terms of intimacy. To know Him intimately.
Just as He held the bread and cup saying eat drink in remembrance of me. Physical elements ingested. Tangible. Real. Connection to a real saviour and real event.
English

@daveon_x @HwsEleutheroi He says come. He also says ‘do this’ (Luke 22), ‘unless you eat my flesh’ (John 6:53), and ‘he who believes and is baptized will be saved’ (Mark 16:16).
His ‘come’ includes the means he gave. Going past them isn’t going direct. It’s editing him.

This is Calvinist James White.
He preaches against the finished work of Christ present in the Catholic Mass.
Watch how we quote five Bible verses proving James White wrong yet again.
Catholics only: You will want to bookmark this as you read to the end because you can use it to preach the Gospel to your separated Protestant brethren.
Hebrews 10:14
James White says the Mass “does not perfect anyone for whom it is made.”
The Bible says, “By one offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.”
Who do you trust? The Bible, right?
Perfected. For all time. Already done.
Being sanctified. Right now. Ongoing.
One verse. Finished work and ongoing application.
The Mass is how the finished work reaches you in time.
Hebrews 7:25
James White says ongoing intercessory work means the work isn’t finished.
The Bible says, “He always lives to make intercession for them.”
Who do you trust? The Bible, right?
Always. Present tense. Forever.
Ongoing intercessory work is what the finished work does.
1 Corinthians 11:26
James White says the Mass fails to proclaim what Christ accomplished on the cross.
The Bible says, “As often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.”
Who do you trust? The Bible, right?
The Mass is the proclamation.
Every Mass. Until he comes back.
Romans 8:24
James White mocks a priest for saying “I hope to be” the blessed man of Romans 4.
The Bible says, “For in hope we were saved.”
Who do you trust? The Bible, right?
The priest quoted Paul. In Romans. To the Romans.
1 Corinthians 9:27
James White demands certainty no faithful Catholic will claim.
The Bible says, “Lest, after preaching to others, I myself should be disqualified.”
Who do you trust? The Bible, right?
Paul. The man who wrote Romans 4. Refusing the certainty White demands.
White’s test for assurance disqualifies the apostle who wrote the chapter.
Five verses. One Bible. His.
The finished work of Christ is present on every Catholic altar on earth right now.
Catholics, here is what to do with this.
Pick one Evangelical friend. One you actually love.
Pick one of these five verses. The one that hit you hardest.
Send it to them gently. No fight. No tone. Just the verse and a sentence about what it shows you.
Then invite them to Mass. Tell them you want them to hear the Gospel proclaimed the way Paul described it in 1 Corinthians 11:26.
The proclamation is on the altar.
Bring them home.

@DustinAshWrites @Matthew56193629 @HwsEleutheroi Cain brought the sacrifice that was 'good in his own eyes' not acceptable to God. Christ is that acceptable sacrifice for our sins but you know that.
I just pray one day for a stripping back of all the progressive dogma and endless appeal to authority that is not Christ alone
English

“Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” John 1:29.
“Christ our Passover lamb has been sacrificed.” 1 Corinthians 5:7.
“A Lamb standing as if slain.” Revelation 5:6.
The Bible calls Christ the victim. He called Himself the victim. The Lamb in heaven still bears the marks.
The Mass doesn’t re-sacrifice. It makes the one sacrifice present. I covered this in the thread.
And Abel was accepted “by faith” (Hebrews 11:4), not because his offering had blood. Grain offerings were valid worship (Leviticus 2). Cain isn’t the parallel you want.

@onyamate1 @sola_chad Na, I couldn't kiss an icon. But the 7th Council anathematises those who don't. Meh!
I thought the Christian way was the way of humility. All the great believers despised veneration on themselves.
Maybe thats fruit we need to be weary of?
English

@daveon_x @sola_chad I agree. I’m not convinced calling it an icon makes it less of an idol either.

@_davidlimbrick @PeterLeversha You're being noticed. Good. What's that saying? First they mock you...

@PeterLeversha Thanks for the heads up. Would appreciate it if people would please report.

@Dittloff4Sense Jordan, we have to be ready to accept defector reps, who, after 12-18 months will want out of ONP. While I like some of what Hanson is saying/doing, (Dont we all), I just dont think they have a well established political epistemology. Libertarians do by ideology.

The Gospel:
“Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.” (1 Corinthians 15:1-4)
We’ve all sinned (Romans 3:23). Jesus took our punishment on the cross, rose victorious, and offers forgiveness as a free gift by grace through faith - not works (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Repent and trust in Christ alone. That’s the good news.
English

@onyamate1 @sola_chad Where does the Bible say all scripture is God-breathed?
English

@onyamate1 @sola_chad Unless that tradition involves adoring marble statues and such. Thats blatant idolatry
English

@sola_chad It’s the pride of man that divides us. Traditions are a matter of conscience, not salvation. Stay anchored to the Gospel. Your salvation is in there alone. All Scripture is God-breathed and sufficient. Christ crucified is enough.
English

You’re funny, but if Sola Scriptura was undefeated, there wouldn’t be so many conflicting interpretations of the Bible. The explosion of 1000’s of Protestant denominations & churches, that claim to follow “Scripture alone,” prove that the Bible isn’t as clear & self sufficient as the doctrine claims

@GemmaNoiosi @RealJessica It's like they are demonstrating and proving something
English

@RealJessica The fact that we have to even have these conversations, shows how cooked we are.

@GemmaNoiosi @AlboMP Its a classic and needs to extend to all the other taxes that suppress people from earning a decent income.
Inflation has consequences and i think Labor are about to find out

This is the BEST troll of @AlboMP ever 🔥
Business owners posting about their “silent business partner” who takes 47% of their profits… and doesn’t have to lift a finger!
A perfect protest against Labor’s capital gains tax grab.
Taxation is theft. Libertarians will never vote for tax hikes - they all hurt families and businesses.

@StefanMolyneux The point? “The heavens display His glory”
You cant use a secular, humanist world view to understand God.
English

@senatorbabet lol tell you have no idea of what happened in Venezuela without telling me!!

@StefanMolyneux The divine decrees. He wills what ever so comes to pass. Never runs away from that fact. While He is also not the author of evil.
