This is an independent coffee shop this morning in Camden Passage, Islington. A perfect location, beautifully done inside, friendly service from the actual owner and yet there’s only me and one other person here. The big chains like Starbucks etc are rammed with people. So next time you moan there are only awful chain coffee shops everywhere, giving terrible service from staff who don’t care and no independents, look at yourself and where you spend your money.

@madsromild @Domestique___ I agree that FP has done nothing wrong, but I think it's a bigger issue for womens sport as their physiology makes the health consequences of extreme leanness more acute (they have higher essential body fat needs)...plus the cultural context of female eating-disorder prevalence.
English

@Domestique___ Why is this an issue for women but been the practice for men for decades??? Chapeau Ferrand-Prévot 🥇

🇨🇭 Marlen Reusser warns Tour win sets ‘new standard’ for extreme weight loss.
As a doctor, she also views Ferrand-Prévot’s preparation through her professional lens: “What does that mean for the body? Might it not be so harmful if the deficiency is not permanent? And where does optimisation end and illness begin?”

@alain7 @BenjiNaesen But that wasn’t boring, it was exciting because people thought Pog could potentially get the 1:40 back. It was still a competition. Now the gap is over 3 mins and Jonas has zero chance of getting it back. So it’s over as a competition. Hence it’s boring.
English

@BenjiNaesen It’s funny I wonder how many expressed similar “oh the race is over how boring” after Jonas smoked Tadej in the Stage 16 TT in 2023?

Pogačar has 1 (!) minute on Vingegaard with 6 KMs left. #TDF2025

@KimDotcom @elonmusk But the name made it feel like a joke party. Like the spaghetti party in the UK. Not a serious alternative to the main two parties.
English

@elonmusk I did this in New Zealand. The Internet Party. The result is that you alienate people from the left and the right. The political game is dirty. I had only good intentions. The dirt is next level. We were polling 7% until the establishment said this cannot be. New Zealanders lost.
English

@benonwine So fake. Scriptwriter screws up in two or three places and the girls's acting is terrible - so wooden.

I don’t get how people are not hyped for this year’s Tour de France…
We literally get this year almost every single big star without injuries and in full health battling for the success.
For GC: Pogačar, Vingegaard, Evenepoel, Roglič, Almeida, Jorgenson, Lipowitz…
For punchy stages: the legendary Van Der Poel vs. Van Aert
For sprints: Merlier, Milan, Philipsen and the last year’s green jersey Girmay
And for TTs: Evenepoel vs. Ganna
Still not hyped?

@lucasaganronald What did he do in the TDF moment? (Genuine question)
English

The hate towards Ayuso because of that one Tour de France moment feels crazy to me…
And I am afraid UAE team is on that train. Not letting him ride Vuelta a España or even Il Lombardia this year plus it does not look like to me that his team or people there just even tries a little bit to help him with PR and change people’s view on him.
I wish so much some team will buy him out and he will ride for a team where he will have a main word on his calendar a be a leader in. #FREEAYUSO

@rogla_nerd A DNF is just a single event - Rog crashed multiple times this Giro. His one DNF was the accumulated result of so many crashes in a single race.
English

@Armando80921971 @faustocoppi60 They achieved a lot. They dropped all of the UAE support riders and made it 1 vs 1. In that situation, most people would bet on Carapaz ver Del Torro. Didn't work out, but it was great to see them try something different.
English

@faustocoppi60 All they did was burning themselves out to achieve nothing.
English

I'm currently rewatching the epic stage 20 and I gotta admit, we didn't talk enough about Mikkel Honoré stratospheric leadout for Carapaz on Finestre. The man went full Triki Beltran on Alpe d'Huez 2003! 😳 More 🇩🇰🧨.

@matt_gray_ I think they will be Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates et al.
English

@irishpeloton Hah, nice that you’re trying to spin it, but I think most fans understand that it’s the ‘aLulA tour’. I think Ineos are a level or two above this crap-fest.
English

@BenjiNaesen First week was great, but after that I was pretty bored.
English

@lucasaganronald If someone gave it to me as a gift, I'd say 'ummm... do you have the receipt?'
English

Do you know how much cost the watch that Tadej Pogačar wore yesterday while winning the Tour de France stage?
340.000€ 🤯
It is a special Richard Mille RM 011 yellow edition. 💛 (screenshot in the comments) #TDF2024

Elisa Longo Borghini: "I really wanted to give it back to Kopecky, she made me a bit upset yesterday. Today I was like I'm gonna crack you, no matter what."
Don't mess with this bad-ass woman. 😍

🥈 @LotteKopecky finishes 2nd in the general classification. An ironclad Giro d'Italia by our world champion, taking 1 stage win, finishing 3 times second in the stages & winning the red points jersey.
What a show @LotteKopecky & @ElisaLongoB put up in this @giroditalia! 🔥
Congratulations to our world champion for another amazingly strong performance! 👏🎩 And congrats to Elisa Longo-Borghini with the GC victory.
