The state of Abandoned Masinde Muliro stadium in Bungoma that hosted the 2024 Madaraka Day celebrations on June 1, 2024. The stadium was reportedly renovated at a cost of Ksh 1.96 billion in 2024. Despite President William Ruto promise that he had instructed the contractor to finalise the project in July 2024, till now nothing has ever happened. The stadium is now bushy and full of cracks and damaged seats Hosting wild animals like snakes. Despite Bungoma having football clubs playing in National leagues and good schools that engage in sports games the stadium has never been used again since Madaraka day in 2024. Remember Bungoma is where the third in command Speaker Moses Wetangula comes from and he passes there anytime he's in Bungoma.

Mzee Chege from Olkalau touched the hearts of many Kenyans. He was seen walking his two children to school in worn out clothes and gumboots. Life has been very hard for this father. He works long hours at a quarry to take care of his two children and elderly mother on his own. More than 13 years ago his wife left the family and never came back. She has shown no interest in their lives since then. Mzee Chege has been raising the children alone in a small single room mabati house. During school holidays his daughter and son shared a three seater sofa as their bed. His daughter is now in high school. Through all of this Mzee Chege never thought of leaving his children. The children understood their father's struggles and adapted to the hard life with hope that things would change one day. In the early years he would carry both children on his bicycle to the quarry. Things changed after a TikTok community came together and raised more than KSh 500,000. The money was used to buy the family new clothes utensils bedding and other household items. They were also moved into a fully furnished one bedroom house with electricity running water a bathroom toilet and kitchen. These were things they had never had before. For the first time the children watched television in their own living room. The family will stay in the house for three months while their permanent home is being built. Today the TikTok community and well wishers across Kenya are holding a fundraiser to help build Mzee Chege a proper permanent house. Relatives from his wife's side had been silent for over 13 years. They have now started reaching out and asking for forgiveness.

1. The approved Capitation for primary school is capped at Ksh 1,400 per year. The funds are usually released by the National Treasury to the Ministry of Education on termly basis in the ratio of 50:30:20. 2. The capitation amount is arrived at based on clear expenditure lines (vote heads) that are determined by estimated costs incurred by EACH learner. 3. Upon receipt of the money, and based on the exact amount received, MoE releases the funds with an accompanying circular detailing the expenditure breakdown (vote heads). 4. The figures in reference to the circular are based on this practice. 5. In summary, MoE wishes to clarify the following: • MoE determines how much money is allocated to each vote head based on the total amount of capitation received from the National Treasury • Capitation funds are released on three phases corresponding to the school calendar terms • The circular in reference is based on the 2nd term tranche as received from National Treasury. • The amounts shown are per learner, not per school -The KSh 95.25 PER LEARNER is for learning materials only (books, stationery, etc.) -The KSh 93.08 PER LEARNER for school operations (staff, maintenance, utilities, exams) @EduMinKenya @_BasicEdu

Kikuyu musician Kamanda wa Kioi has released a song mocking President William Ruto, with the line: “We don’t know who we shall elect, but we know who we shall not elect!” This is the same Kamanda wa Kioi who, together with his wife, had been unwell, and whose medical bills were settled by President William Ruto and his Deputy. Early last year, the musician was hospitalised at Guru Nanak Hospital. The President, together with the Deputy President, cleared a KSh 3 million hospital bill without any drama. Then his wife fell ill and was admitted at Nairobi West Hospital, where the bill came to KSh 3.5 million. The family and friends managed to raise only KSh 200,000. They appealed for help, but no one came through until Murang’a Woman Representative Betty Maina stepped in. She registered the family for SHA and paid the premiums. SHA covered KSh 1.5 million, leaving a balance of around KSh 2 million. After she had been locked in the hospital for nearly two months, President William Ruto personally cleared the remaining KSh 2 million. This is not a case of mere ungratefulness. It is a lack of basic human dignity and decency, the very qualities that separate us from animals. If it were someone like Samidoh or DJ Fatxo, whom the President might never have assisted directly, one might understand and give them a pass. But not Kamanda wa Kioi.

When Uhuru left power, NSSF was at flat rate of KSh 200. For Ruto, it's 6% on the employer side and 6% on the employee side. When Uhuru was leaving power, the dollar was KSh 118. Ruto took it to 160 and brought it down to 129. When Uhuru was leaving power, petrol was going for KSh 158 with subsidy. Ruto took it to 217, brought it down to 178, and now it’s at 198 with subsidy. When Uhuru was leaving power, the maximum NHIF contribution was KSh 1,700. For Ruto, it's 2.75% of your salary. During Uhuru’s time, KSh 100 would give you about 6 KPLC units of tokens, but under Ruto you now get about 3 units for the same amount. During Uhuru’s time, VAT across key sectors was 8%, but under Ruto it has gone up to 16%. For Uhuru, affordable housing meant no deductions on your payslip, but under Ruto, you now have an additional mandatory deduction. Despite all this, borrowing hasn’t stopped. In fact, it has picked up. So, how has Ruto reduced the cost of living ?🤔

This evening, I visited Sammy Kioko at Nairobi West Hospital to stand with him and his family during this difficult time. Sammy is like a son to me, and I continue to pray for his quick and full recovery. I also spoke with Governor Wavinya Ndeti, who is deeply concerned by this unfortunate incident and is keen to ensure that the matter is handled fairly and transparently. My hope and prayer are that this issue will now proceed with calm, sobriety, and a clear focus on the facts, so that Sammy can heal in peace and the truth can emerge without unnecessary distraction. At this moment, what matters most is Sammy’s well-being, the dignity of his family, and the need for this matter to be concluded in a just and respectful manner.

RE: CLARIFICATION ON PENDING SUPPLIER PAYMENTS AND RECENT EVENTS IN MACHAKOS TOWN Fellow residents of Machakos County, I wish to address the public following recent statements and events involving Mr. Sammy Kioko and the concerns raised regarding alleged non-payment for supplies made to the County Government. First and foremost, I express concern over the unfortunate incident that occurred in Machakos Town on 31st March, 2026. As a County Government, we do not condone violence in any form and we urge all parties to exercise restraint and allow lawful and orderly processes to prevail. Let me take this opportunity to clarify the position of the County Government on this matter specifically and generally on the matter of pending bills . Our records indicate that Mr. Sammy Kioko is not a registered supplier of the County Government of Machakos. The entity that supplied Inspectorate uniforms is Movata Designs. For any individual to lawfully act on behalf of the company, proper legal authorization must be presented, including a valid Power of Attorney, formal appointment by the company, or representation through a qualified advocate. We acknowledge that supplies were made by Movata Designs, however, partial delivery occurred towards the close of the financial year 2023/2024 and therefore inspection and acceptance of the partial delivery could not be conducted. Movata Designs’ payment was therefore classified as a pending bill, in line with Public Finance Management procedures. As an administration committed to transparency and accountability, my government established a Pending Bills Committee to ascertain the existence, completeness, and legitimacy of projects underlying all pending bills. Further, upon the recommendation of the Office of the Auditor-General (OAG) and the Office of the Controller of Budget (OCoB), I constituted the Machakos County Pending Bills Verification Committee to rigorously verify inherited pending bills amounting to KES 3,812,256,795. Upon completion of this exercise, the Committee established that:  • KES 2,126,781,000 constituted eligible (payable) pending bills; and  • KES 1,685,475,795 were ineligible claims, comprising:  • KES 927,582,267 in unverified legal fees; and  • KES 757,893,528 relating to claims with incomplete documentation. Since assuming office, my administration has made deliberate and measurable progress. Out of the eligible historical pending bills of KES 2,126,781,000, we have already settled KES 642,345,765, leaving a balance of KES 1,484,435,235. This outstanding balance will be systematically addressed through the 1st Supplementary Budget for the Financial Year 2025/2026 and subsequent financial years, in line with available resources.
