Here a question I got from client yesterday…how soon can you reverse my passport certification/revocation? Well, it depends on how soon you want engage in tax representation! We have successfully reversed passport certification/revocation in like 31 days. Client needed his passport to travel overseas and his tax liability was around $300,000. This is a message for all taxpayers and business owners: Make sure your “tax strategist” picks up the phone when the IRS comes knocking on your door about certain tax strategies.

Ok #taxtwitter does the Kwong case grant relief for any penalties/interest during the time period or just those related to COVID relief that resulted in penalties? E.g. a client paid in October 2022 and had to pay penalties for late payment of tax. Are they eligible?

FYI…if you are business owner with employees classified as “contractors” Be aware of the IRS enforcement and audits! Last week, we got engaged in an employment IRS audit. Additionally, this week we have a new client with the same issue from the IRS.

Horrific payroll case landed on my desk today. Roughly $1.3 Million in TFRP! Business owner wasn’t even aware of the situation. Wife and Bookkeeper/tax preparer kept the whole situation from the husband. 🤯🤯🤯 In house bookkeeper/tax preparer didn’t know how to handle 1058….IRS levied around $350,000 last week. To be continued…

I’m going to be focusing on what IRS levies can take away from you! Property exempt from seizure, principal residence seizure, avoiding levies, levies on business assets and more. Ignoring a LT11/1058 can have major consequences

If you are a tax pro (CPA/EA) who doesn’t know how to handle IRS collection cases; please refer those clients to someone who does tax representation. A new client went to his tax pro with a LT11/1058 and the tax pro told him not to worry about the IRS letter. 😳😳😳😳 Revenue officer issued a 8519 4 weeks ago. RO is very aggressive and she is trying to collect all the money.

🚨 July 10, 2026 is 56 days away — and for many taxpayers, it’s the last day to recover money the IRS legally owes them. Here’s the bottom line: • July 10, 2026 is the final day to file a timely refund claim riding the three-year arm of I.R.C. § 6511(a) for returns whose due dates were postponed under former § 7508A(d). • The 1,268-day disaster period (Jan 20, 2020 – July 10, 2023) is about to become irrelevant for refund purposes on those claims. • But abatement requests for assessed-but-unpaid balances, CDP verification challenges under § 6330(c)(1), post-window two-year payment claims, and § 6404(e) ministerial-delay relief all survive. If you still carry pandemic-era interest, failure-to-pay penalties, or overpaid estimated taxes from 2019–2022 returns, the next 56 days are critical. Thread 🧵 below 👇🏻

About 6 months ago, I had a potential client set up an initial consultation. He had a LT11 for tax year 2021 & 2022. By the end of our meeting; he didn’t want engage in our tax representation services. Fast forward, he just called my office to let me know that the IRS has levied his business bank account for $70,000 today. Completely gone! Some of the money was for payroll this Friday. Time to get to work now!
