The Drexel School of Education is in mourning after the loss of our beloved Dean Penny Hammrich. Penny guided us through a pandemic, fostered innovation, and helped us become better people, Penny treated us like family and we will move forward in her honor.

TikTok and other social media can be more than a distraction in schools if used improperly. I know some teachers who collect students' phones at the beginning of class and place the phones in a basket near their desks. Other strategies?

It’s quite something to hear educators who are no longer in the classroom condemn schools and districts for banning phones. As if asking teachers to compete with Discord, TikTok, and Twitch for attention is proof of progressive thinking. Proof of insanity is closer to it.
