The Reds are calling up reliever Tejay Antone. He’s believed to be the third pitcher to make it back to the big leagues after three Tommy John’s. It’ll be his first big league game since April of 2024. “I was going to retire,” Antone said about having the third surgery. “I was going to hang it up and move on. I don’t think anyone would have thought anything of it. I had three elbow surgeries in professional baseball. being from the great lakes region is weirdly more important than being from illinois to me. like as a chicagoan i feel more kinship with people in milwaukee, detroit, cleveland, buffalo, etc than i do with people in the quad cities, peoria, or especially carbondale
