People are upset about this but this explains why many people have a distant relationship with ‘dad’s side’ of the family. You actually need a parent who is invested in facilitating those bonds for them to happen.

I remember when my husband expressed disappointment that we regularly made it to my nephews birthday parties and sporting events and not his. I told him I take initiative to ask for schedules and find out when things were and didn’t have time to do it for a second family.

he's not wrong, men rarely exhibit this. this is what women are talking about when they say they're burned out and exhausted and want a husband with equal initiative to give a shit about their shared life.

Random Lore drop
I was a Webber fan and my Dad liked Sebastian. And I’d bought into the media bullshit about Seb and thought he was the “Bad guy”
He told me “Watch the races with your eyes, not through the headlines”
And that rang more true than ever as Lando Norris fan

my dad being a vettel truther in 2010 against webber and me being a norris truther in 2025 against piastri, truly my fathers daughter

jon: *on facetime with his mom and brother* she said she wants to give you a hug
LN: I’ll give you a hug when I see you next time!
🎙️: who’s that?
LN: my trainer 😁
🎙️: on the phone?
LN: my trainers mum, and my trainers brother. my trainer is someone who’s been with me for […] 13 years? he’s spent his life with me, you know. he saw me when I was a baby. he helped me become the person I am today, and you saw how happy he is. when I see him so happy, it makes me happy, so I made him happy and his family happy. when you know you can have this effect, this is the best feeling honestly, in the world. 🥹❤️🩹

more of alex after lando won the championship 🥹🥹
“it’s weird isn't it? it doesn't feel real. it feels like just your friends on the big stage. i guess we don't look at each other like fans may do. you’re just happy as a friend more than you are as anything else.
clearly it's a dream for all of us to be an F1 world champion. i think we're all so happy for lando. hopefully everyone else gets a chance as well.”

oh lando 🥲❤️🩹
“the fact i got to share also with my brother and my sisters. the sacrifice is also from them, that i don't feel like i've been maybe the older brother that my sisters would have wanted or would have loved quite as much. i've not been able to see also them grow up as much. but everyone has little sacrifices, different sacrifices along the way in order to achieve their dreams. and i certainly feel like it was all worth it because i still get to have them all there at the end of it, which was yesterday. and we get to celebrate it all together because my dream was their dream and their dream was my dream, all of it together. so it was our win”
