@chefVGC @JacobSkraw Since it says assume no moves miss it’s always double protect turn 1, then Mega rock slide and tailwind. Even if Venusaur lives sand will be up and Dual Wingbeat wins the match turn 3.

hearing this from joe serebii himself is probably the most scathing comment possible. alongside wolfey's only post about the game is him getting soft locked, it's a pretty bad look. ILCA dictating the future of VGC is worrying, but rooting for champion's success is all we can do.

@XenoTrails It’s an interesting format but the real thing here is your mega is guaranteed to be one shot by at least one Pokemon in the metagame. If you don’t have an answer to that, you’ll probably lose every time you see that Pokemon, and your ace will be nerfed. 2 megas solves this.

@playpokemon He didn’t top deck the energy, he drew night stretcher and the energy last turn and bluffed Ted that he didn’t have the grass already in hand by using the stretcher to attach for turn, concealing that the last card was the energy he needed!

Now I can swap in a ttar or rain setter and actually have a play to make rather than just eat my fire blast medicine.

Is this going off of Speed? Like if I mega something that slower than the Pokemon switching out would the switch out happen first ? Example: Say I mega drampa, and greninja switches out since greninja is faster would that switch happen before my mega ?

Mega evolution now happens before switching, meaning you can now immediate override weathers from megas like charizard Y and tyranitar by switching in a weather mon Likewise something like mega manectric would always intimidate then the other side switches out

@rowanwhall I think the best assumption we should be making is they tried to do it, found some reason why it’s more difficult than they previously thought, and decided to hold off on release so they can add it later when it works as intended.
To assume they didn’t even try is false imo
