One of the most horrifying things happening in Gaza right now something the world barely knows about is that we are now trapped inside an area no larger than 133 square kilometers out of Gaza’s original 336 square kilometers. More than two million people are crowded into this tiny, suffocating space, creating one of the highest population densities in the world, literally. But the real catastrophe is not only the lack of space it is that this area itself is no longer fit for human life. Everything around us has become rubble, tents, and destroyed homes. There are no proper schools, no functioning hospitals, no infrastructure, no electricity, and no clean water. People are surviving among destruction, disease, epidemics, hunger, and constant fear. Every single day we wake up to news that more areas have been taken over, and the space we are confined to keeps shrinking further and further, until it feels like we are being slowly pushed toward complete suffocation. Our homes disappeared inside those areas, and until this moment we know nothing about them, as if our entire previous lives have simply been erased. The situation here is becoming more terrifying with every passing day. Children fall asleep to the sounds of bombardment and fear, while families live without any sense of safety or stability. No one knows how long this endless nightmare will continue. What is happening can no longer be endured, and there is an urgent and immediate need for intervention to save more than two million people trapped in conditions no human being should ever have to live through.

In 2020, a small city in Wisconsin told its residents they could stop mowing for a month. 435 households joined in. The bees came back the same spring. Appleton was the first US city to adopt No Mow May. The city council suspended its weed ordinance for the month so residents wouldn't get cited for tall grass. Around 40 acres of lawn across the city went uncut. Researchers from Lawrence University sampled the unmowed lawns and nearby mowed city parks in the same week. The unmowed lawns had 5 times as many bees and 3 times as many bee species as the mowed parks. Wisconsin is home to nearly 500 native bee species. Most people have never seen them because they don't live in honeybee hives. They're solitary bees, ground nesters, small black or metallic green insects that fit on a fingernail. Appleton's unmowed yards gave them food and shelter in the hungry early-spring window when almost nothing else is blooming. The experiment cost the city nothing. It saved residents fuel and labor. It produced measurable ecological results within 30 days. Dozens of US cities have adopted the practice since. Has yours?

If you have a bug zapper up, it's time to take it down. A University of Delaware study analyzed nearly 14,000 insects killed by bug zappers over a single summer. Mosquitoes accounted for 0.22% of them. Less than one quarter of one percent. The other 99.78%? Moths, beetles, midges, fireflies, and other beneficial insects doing exactly what your yard needs them to do. Here's why it's even worse than it sounds: mosquitoes don't find you by light. They find you by carbon dioxide, body heat, and skin chemistry. Your bug zapper is completely invisible to them. Meanwhile it's running all night massacring the pollination night shift. Moths are among the most important nocturnal pollinators alive, and they're flying straight into your zapper because they navigate by light. Bug zappers kill over 70 billion insects annually in the US. Harvard Medical School's Zika page specifically warns against them, noting they may actually increase mosquito populations by eliminating the beneficial insects that prey on mosquitoes. What actually works: eliminate standing water within 100 feet of where you spend time outside. That's your best bet. It's time to break up with the bug zapper.

It looks like that unlike China, the U.S. is unable to provide Venezuela with necessities for its citizens. The U.S. doesn’t have the manufacturing capacity and the supply chain to provide necessities to countries such as Venezuela. “Back in the Maduro era, despite U.S. sanctions, they could still swap oil with China for food, daily necessities, and medicine, barely managing to keep prices stable. Now that ties with China have been cut off, inflation has shot straight to the moon—reaching 649.5% by March 2026. The IMF predicts this figure could climb even higher to 682% by the end of 2026. Now Venezuela's oil revenue is being funneled into a special account set up by the U.S. Treasury, and their gold reserves have been hauled off by the United States too, accelerating the currency's devaluation... It'd be a miracle if things didn't go haywire.” Via @KELMAND1

🇨🇺 Breaking | The U.S. Coast Guard is allowing a Russian tanker carrying about 730,000 barrels of crude oil to reach Cuba, easing a months-long illegal U.S. oil blockade, according to U.S. officials cited by The New York Times. The report says the shipment could temporarily stabilize Cuba’s collapsing energy system, which has faced multiple blackouts in the past month, recurring fuel shortages, and rising unrest. The decision also avoids a direct confrontation with Russia near U.S. waters. The tanker is expected to reach Matanzas, Cuba by Tuesday. It remains unclear if future shipments will be allowed.

Israel has now seized a larger percentage of Lebanon's total landmass than Russia has taken from Ukraine since its 2022 invasion. The latter was immediately met with international uproar and unprecedented multi-sectoral sanctions while the former is barely even mentioned.

🇺🇸 US troops spooked by Trump’s warmongering in Middle East Morale among US troops is sinking to a new low as Trump’s attempted blitzkrieg in the Persian Gulf turns into a bloody and costly quagmire, HuffPost reports. Successful Iranian attacks on US bases in the Middle East shattered the US troops’ confidence. One US military official lamented that a ground operation against Iran would be “an absolute disaster,” pointing at the Pentagon’s inability to protect its own assets in the region. Many US personnel are increasingly reluctant to do Netanyahu’s bidding instead of serving their own country. “I’m hearing out of service members’ mouths the words, ’We do not want to die for Israel — we don’t want to be political pawns,” said one US veteran and reservist who mentors younger officers. The executive director of the Center on Conscience and War announced a 1,000% increase in conscientious objector applications. The deadly strike on the girls’ school in Minab, he notes, has become a breaking point for most of these new applicants. Some service members also complained about the “lack of a clear, consistent narrative justifying the Iran war,” as HuffPost put it, with the prospect of risking their lives in a “poorly planned conflict” for “no identifiable strategic benefit” leaving them demoralized.

Amazing how the media can tell you all about human rights abuses in Iran, but when the US is causing people on ventilators to die in Cuba, there is radio silence. Apparently, human rights only matter when we need an excuse to start a war.

🇮🇶 Iraqi resistance groups agree to a 24-hour ceasefire after a request from the United States and NATO to allow for their withdrawal from Victoria Base in Baghdad, Al Mayadeen reports. ➤ The spokesperson for Saraya Awliya al-Dam resistance faction Abu Mahdi al-Jaafari said Washington and NATO asked Baghdad to secure a pause so forces could withdraw. ➤ Most resistance factions agreed, on the condition that Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) positions between Samarra and Karbala are not targeted. ➢ “But if you return [to sin], we will return [to punishment]. And We have made Hell a prison for the disbelievers," the spokesman said. ➤ According to al-Jaafari, US troops are now confined to the Kurdistan region, having been pushed out from all other locations by resistance factions. ➤ NATO has now withdrawn all personnel from its mission in Iraq as of Friday, March 20, with several hundred troops from NATO Mission Iraq departing after recent Iranian attacks on Western military bases; spokesperson Allison Hart said the alliance would “adjust its presence” for security reasons, while a source cited by Al Mayadeen said the Italian contingent had fled to Jordan.

Iran is prepared for a long war - with support from Russia and China. (financial resources and eyes in the sky) USA Israel and Europe are not prepared for a longer conflict. Ground Forces would be needed to reach any of the goals Trump stated - 100s of 1000s - some small proxies won't and can't do it. We are watching a multileveled war of attrition while Europe admitted a closed Persian Gulf for longer than a month would be a devastating blow.
