@jkuntz_11 @Pirat_Nation Almost like Daikatana, or worse, Duke Nukem Forever all over again.

@experienc0r @Pirat_Nation they don't. it's just mismanagement of resources and wasted efforts on meaningless shit like graphical fidelity or high resolution textures that look flat and lifeless

@tmo_melonmaster @Pirat_Nation Yup, my guess: they prolly made it like "Starfield", loading screens galore et all. Then saw fan backlash over SF, panicked and focused on "remasters" for next 2-5 yrs on shitty UE5, for testing, and stall for time, with plans for ES6 to be on UE5 than their outdated SF engine.

@Pirat_Nation If Elder Scrolls 6 is gonna come out looking like Starfield, then just keep it shelved.

@gothicthegame Why? What's it downloading? Why does it need to connect to anything before anyone can play? What if the company goes out of business and/or server goes down?
Why all this to hassle to the consumer for?
Replaying the original Gothic games instead, sounds way more appealing.

For us the most important thing is that people can play on launch date and time. To achieve that we sent out copies earlier.
Gothic 1 Remake will need a download of around 5 GB on launch day and will then be fully playable offline - NO permanent internet connection is needed.
Does it play?@DoesItPlay1
Cancel your pre-orders! Gothic Remake is unplayable offline. THQ is withholding this info from customers! No proper marking on the package. No notice on the store page. This was discovered through a copy of the game that was sent early by the official THQ Store.

@Pirat_Nation Ubisoft dev: "AI, make a game fans will love."
*Sees results*
Dev: "ZOMG THIS IS SO SEXIST AND RACIST! CHANGE IT IMMEDIATELY!"
AI: "But sir, the changes you propose are highly unpopular, the game will flop, losing millions."
Dev: "IT's MA'AM! SO DO IT U FACIST RACIST! REEE!"

Ubisoft is increasing its investment in generative AI to create more interactive gaming experiences.
The company is working on a project called “Teammates,” where AI-powered characters can react and respond to players in a more natural way.
Ubisoft wants NPCs and companions in games to feel smarter and more realistic. These AI characters could adapt to player actions, respond during gameplay, and enable less scripted conversations and events.
The company is also using AI to help game development by improving testing, coding support, and managing large open-world games.
Ubisoft’s future games, including major franchises like Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry, may include more AI-driven features as the company continues investing in this technology.

@SprinterPress The better question is, why do they feel they need to "defeat Russia" and "defeat China" for? Huh? 🤔

Helicopters carrying human cargo fly straight at a mountain in Mexico and pass right through it! The rock pixelates from 3D to 2D to nothing, then seals back into solid stone behind them. What's left in the desert is a body count that shouldn't exist, and a question the general is afraid to ask out loud.
"It dissolves from 3D to 2D to nothing as the helicopters slip through and vanish from one world into another."
"To the outside world, it looks like they vanished. But inside, they've just arrived home."
"An elite American operator executed in the desert by unknown forces using U.S. authentication codes."
"A weapon system that can surgically blast drones and F-18s with an electromagnetic pulse."
"A holographic mountain in Mexico that isn't a mountain, but a door."
"The enemy isn't foreign, it's domestic, but it's not under normal chains of command."

@Mubooza @DannyDrinksWine Great film, it felt like a "Terminator prequel". This scene I recall was when the US President wanted to talk to the AI, which was risky, he didn't know the "prompts". Forbin coached him. But he ignored it, made threats, and the AI reacted by firing a nuke. Whoops! 🚀

@DannyDrinksWine Screenwriter Walter F. Parkes cited the 1970 film, Colossus: The Forbin Project, as an inspiration for WarGames. Makes for a solid double-feature.

US President Ronald Reagan was shown "WarGames" (1983) at Camp David the weekend it was released. He loved the movie but it also freaked him out. A few days later, at a White House meeting that included the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Reagan asked, “Could something like this really happen? Could someone break into our most sensitive computers?”
The answer came back a week later: “Mr. President, the problem is much worse than you think.” That led not only to a significant revamp of how computer security was handled at the Defense Department, but also passage of an anti-hacking law that would eventually evolve into US Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, 1986. Clips of "WarGames" (1983) were shown during the congressional hearings where lawmakers debated the need for hacking legislation.

P.S: On this day, 43 years ago, John Badham's "WarGames" (1983) premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, France.

@brave_romania Actually, her backing band at Eurovision IS her band, they've apparently been together a couple years or so already. That's really great to see, they're all very talented, it can be seen in the previous work. Perfect. Excellent. 👍
English

@brave_romania Great singer, if Nightwish's current singer ever retires and need a new one, they should look up Alexandra, would be perfect I think. Otherwise, should form a band, go on tour. Would love to see more. Like this "piano" version of "Choke Me", is amazing:

Very catchy metal song. Nothing "x-rated"/"bsdm", ppl making shit up - only a bit cringe tho ("cha-cha-cha-cha-", weird spazzing). Funny how globohom-euro-lefties are freaking out like they think its satire about their imported "migrants" r**ing their women. Hmm. 🤔
