@JCHanson101 @TorontoPearson We are on a westjet flight waiting to depart Pearson. 45 min delay so far. Pilot told us there's a nationwide IT outage, gave us the choice of deboarding but with the catch that if it's resolved those not on the plane might miss their flight.

@BadWeatherKyle It was very bumpy as soon as we neared Calgary and over the city but nothing too crazy. Craziest part was leaving LA in near 30c, prepared to land here around 5c when I checked before takeoff and then hearing the pilot say it's -10 outside 🥴

@exxczyk How was the ride in? Was likely some remnant mountain wave activity from earlier Chinook winds, combined with low level shear above the ground near that temperature contrast.

Look at that temperature difference across Calgary this hour! Cold air to the east is meeting warmer, downslope winds to the west, right over the city. There's literally a ~10C difference roughly on either side of Deerfoot Trail. Can even see it on infrared satellite. #yyc
