I am neither surprised nor amused by the actions of the Punjab police or the Indian army. I only find Gen Hooda's reaction amusing. If it had been an ordinary person instead of Gen Hooda, they might have willingly and promptly given side. Gen Hooda perhaps thought that showing his credentials would suffice if police stopped him for not giving side, but the innovative Punjab police instead damaged his car. Yes, there was a long queue at Surat railway station, but you can’t blame the govt for that, when lakhs of people decide to travel at the same time, such situations are bound to happen. You can criticize the govt only when they fail to manage the situation and let people suffer. Here, Surat Police @CP_SuratCity officials were on the ground, distributing food, speaking to passengers, and informing them about train schedules for those travelling to UP-MP-Bihar-Odisha-WB-Jharkhand etc. The long queue was actually a well-managed effort to prevent overcrowding at the platforms and avoid any chance of a stampede. Instead of appreciating the administration for handling such a massive crowd efficiently, some people are busy abusing them just because there was a queue.

First of all, the Ethanol policy was the Modi Government’s initiative, not just Gadkari’s. So let’s forget that debate, what’s more important is that the reform saved ₹25 lakh crore in oil imports, transformed India’s transport sector, and promoted clean mobility. Isn’t it a good achievement? As far as mileage and performance concerns are there, they should be debated but I still believe it’s the oil lobby’s push. The govt should conduct transparent research and make the data public to clear all doubts.
