Le produit de type « thermite », composé d’oxyde de fer et d’oxyde d’aluminium, donne cette couleur acajou obtenue après la pulvérisation et donne cette couleur jaune-orangée des flammes de l’incendie. Depuis Février, le produit sans doute associé à une colle a séché et s’est solidifié sur les poutres comme une pâte devenue très fine, une sorte de vernis....   Le 15 avril (on pourrait aussi discuter le « choix » de la date), il ne suffisait plus que de mettre à feu un vrai « pot thermique » (au magnésium par exemple), générant une chaleur intense de 2200 degrés pour allumer ainsi toute la charpente pré-imbibée (et non pas désinsectisée).
