@pushsquare Misses by a lot more than a mark, it could be an amazing game which im sure it is but im not buying unless its fully on the disc and they correct what theyve done.

There is ZERO reason to lock people out of the game through this mandatory online check. Either you deliberately released an inferior product that doesn't work without patches or you want to force DRM on people and try to excuse it with a situation you created yourselves. In the process you have doomed the physical release to become a coaster. Or are you going to keep the download servers up forever?

For us the most important thing is that people can play on launch date and time. To achieve that we sent out copies earlier. Gothic 1 Remake will need a download of around 5 GB on launch day and will then be fully playable offline - NO permanent internet connection is needed.

@gothicthegame This is not the point, the point of all the fuss about this is that the disc will be a paperweight in 20 years. The game needs to be fully playable offline with NO internet required EVER. THAT is the whole point of a physical release, especially since this is a single player game

As a huge Gothic fan, this is heartbreaking. I was very much looking forward to going through the entire trilogy one more time. What has become of this industry? I can't support this behavior. Pre-order cancelled.

Hope the reprint for the misprinted KCD Royal Edition on PS5 is on your agenda. Customers deserve the product they were promised. One time codes are not a solution to make up for the now-missing properties of a physical release.

Plaion botched the PS5 release for Kingdom Come Deliverance: Royal Edition.
Just received word from a trustworthy source that they accidentally printed the Standard Edition. Without DLC! Looks like they will try to offer codes as a first solution. This needs a reprint, though!

@Juan_mkx @machinegames Truly we already kinda got ripped off with the not complete disc version. Neither game is playable without internet. 20 years time they will more than likely be paper weights. I see what your saying i just want to own what i buy and never rely on PS or Xbox servers

@Juan_mkx @machinegames I would sell my D1 copy to buy a new ps5 version thats complete on disc dlc and all. For me that stuff is extremly important for ownership in todays digtial world.

@finalprintgames @machinegames It's complicated. If there are 2 releases, D1 buyers would stick with it, and if the first one is released digitally, many would wait, and it would be a "failure." If delaying the release isn't possible ñ, the best option for me is 2 releases: GP D1 and buying physical copy later
