@HMBohemond I play night lords because I had a friend that played them 25 years ago. I think he played them because he liked the symbol & lightning armor. I don’t really care about the modern fluff. I miss when the setting was less defined, & everyone had their own personal warband lore.

There's exactly two kinds of Night Lords fans:
The people who recognize that they're tied for 'worst people in the Warhammer 40,000 universe' and own it. They wear the horror of the faction on their sleeve. They're genuinely the good ones.
The others are people are tourists who only know that Night Lords...
a) Where part of a rebellion against a "fasicst" (by Reddit standards) Empire.
b) Their Primarch hated the leader of said Empire.
The rest for them is Greenday style faux anti-establishment larp.

@DyingBreedTT I worked in the game industry from 1988 to 2012 and we didn’t have the benefit of updstes. It is true that if we shipped with bugs we had to live with them forever, so we tried damn hard to weed them out.

Younger people don't know that we used to buy games, and there was no internet. You couldn't download a patch. So yeah, games launched as finished products. Because they had to.

I have worked in various parts of the game industry from 1981 through today. I have paid hundreds of artists to do art. I have hired artists. I have worked closely with large teams of artists.
We don't pay artists to do "fine art" any more it is true. But we absolutely pay them for art. Here's two pieces of art I paid for. One is a color image, the other a 3-d model; respectively the modern version of a painting & a sculpture. You may or may not like what they did but two artists got paid lots of dollars for these works.

one of my final straws for taking my son out of school was during covid, they had an evening zoom class. the kids were showing off their teddy bears and my son was bouncing a little in his seat. I heard his teacher YELL his name saying she was going to kick him from the meeting if he couldn't "behave". he was in his own house, on mute, and she couldn't stand seeing him excited and happy. he started to cry so I had to turn his camera off

My little brother was singled out and bullied by his female teachers because he would bounce up and down when he got excited. We used to call him Tigger. He was a single digit age and they would scream at him and insult him for hopping in place in anticipation of recess or something. It was hardly even moving, imagine bouncing your leg up and down when you feel antsy. He did it with both. They took away his recesses. They wouldn't let him go outside. They took him off the soccer team, his greatest joy in the world. They made him feel like a piece of shit. He couldn't help himself and it stressed him out so much he just started having tantrums in the morning and refused to ever go to school again. The teachers held meetings where they determined amongst themselves that they had done nothing wrong. That my little brother, whose crime was that he felt so much excitement that he couldn't contain himself, needed to be medicated. They brought in some experts who agreed and convinced my mom to start giving my brother anti-anxiety medication at like 10 years old. The life faded out of his eyes. He was never been the same. The tantrums never stopped. He never even graduated school. I hate every single one of them.

@Rman_RoR @Hirasawa_n1k2 I guess I am one of the anti-GW 3d printers. Partially out of dislike for the lore changes in recent times, but mostly it’s just due to preferring the look of older minis. Also helps to be able to be more carefree with trying out new painting ideas because prints are so cheap.

Ｘで海外趣味人のポストを見るようになると、そこかしこで、ウォーハンマーを遊ぶという前提でＧＷ製品を買うことの是非を議論している。
ウォーハンマーは好きだけど企業としてのＧＷは嫌いだから、ＧＷ製品は買わず３Ｄプリントで代用品を出力する、その行為は悪徳企業に対して正当化されるし、ＧＷ製品を当たり前に買うやつは搾取されている、という論調で買わない正義が語られている。
平和ボケしている日本の趣味人が踏み込んではならない魔域が世界にはあると知った。

@SandyofCthulhu Man, I’ll give him that some of the most painful games I’ve played were amateur first draft playtests, but also some of my best memories of games have been odd ball amateur games hosted at conventions. Rarely do games with such soul make it though corporate refinement.
