The coyote is not the problem in your neighborhood. The coyote is what's keeping the problems in check. If you're concerned: keep small pets supervised at night and don't leave pet or human food out where they can find it. I’ve a request to everyone who posts on X: could we perhaps express ourselves without resorting to swearing and abuse? Just tone it down one notch. Instead of calling someone a “f-wit”, call them a “fool”. Instead of calling them a “c—t”, call them “contemptible” or “pathetic”. You should be able to make your point perfectly well without sounding like an angry teenager in a pub at closing time. Politics is bad enough already without people swearing like troopers - and having once been a Trooper once myself myself I’ve perhaps an excuse, but still don’t need to resort to it. If all you’ve got is abuse, then perhaps you need to think a bit harder about your argument. A valid argument should be able to stand on its own merits without needing profanity to prop it up or close down and intimidate others. I don’t much care for myself - my skin is plenty thick enough - but the time of politics is appalling, getting worse and bad language just drives it further down.

Actually, you are right, and quite a few Municipalities, where land tax is applied, have tax deferment and relief clauses for their elderly property owners. But this shouldn’t be a burden on estimated value. But how should this tax burden be distributed? What is any Municipality responsible for? Clearly there needs to be a revamping of Municipal, State/Provincial, Fed tax rules….

You can't tax rich people on unrealized gains from stocks because "it's not real money until it's sold." So explain to me why my property taxes keep going up based on the unrealized value of my house? I didn't sell it. I didn't cash out. I didn't make a profit. But somehow I'm paying taxes on paper gains every single year. Interesting how "unrealized gains" only become a problem when wealthy folks are involved.
