@CrocodileClip @wayneduv Would have been 20-30 c/KWh..? the marginal cost of production in 1997 was about 3 c/kWh!! Due to surplus and mothballed capacity

This is a very telling statistic. Uncontrolled employee and primary fuel costs, plus corruption, have led to Eskom’s abuse of its citizens. Eskom’s employee costs to produce the same amount of electricity increased by 1,195% since 1994 – MyBroadband mybroadband.co.za/news/energy/64…

@wayneduv No mention of inflation. Rand has lost 9X of it's purchasing power since 1994... So that report is accurate. So you, like MyBroadBand are back at it - demonizing a SEO.

@wayneduv Minor correction.. it’s not Eskom’s citizens - it’s Eskom customers. Citizens are associated with a country, province or City. The point is well made though. Over 1,000% increase since 1994 is insane. It’s been an average of 15% pa for the past decade. Madness

@FanieSP @CityofCT Because the constitution demands it and where the courts refuse to evict land invaders the City is compelled to provide a service if the landlord consents or there is no alternative in terms of relocation

Philippi — this has to stop. Rags, rubble and foreign objects combined to form this massive blockage ball pulled from a sewer line in in Philippi. 2730 blockages this financial year. Cost: over R5,6 million. Irresponsible behaviour hurts everyone. 📞 0860 103 089

@Rifak_Mod @CityofCT Are you naturally dumb or just trying to be funny? Blocked storm water drains result in flooding during the rainy season. This leads to property damage and in some cases a loss of life. This is easily preventable - hence the City’s request. Stop trying to find fault everywhere

@CityofCT Dont see whats so abnormal about that specific blocked drains, that it needs a newspaper article. Please stop gaslighting Capeflats residents and start being serious about servicing these communities properly! Imagine telling ppl they are irresponsible bcoz a drain is blocked.

People accused me of being paid to post about South Africa. I wasn’t paid, I’m worried about how bad things are for White people there. Whites are victims of racism and violent crimes in South Africa. It has to stop. People should know about this. Mainstream media is hiding it.

500 000 members of AfriForum vs 5 million COSATU members. To build Sol Tech that cost R300 million, Afrikaners contributed R10 each mainly from AfriForum and Union of Solidarity. Today they are building another university that cost R3 billion using the same method. COSATU has over 5 million members, what have they done?????

To the man who called himself a ‘proud Jew’ who harassed me publicly and aggressively at the Franschhoek Lit Festival because I said on a panel that I view Gaza as a genocide & the actions in Lebanon & the West Bank as atrocious: you’re betraying what it really means to be Jewish

KNOW YOUR PEOPLE. In early 2000s the Free State government bought a farm which was producing apples in Bethlehem and handed it to over to 100 Black BEE beneficiaries. The White farmer trained them for 2 years, in that period they made huge profits and some bought houses while others bought cars. At the end of that two years training the White farmers, set up the board, CFO, and managers. They managed themselves now, some start drinking and not coming to work without any disciplinary measures, at the end of that year, they were told that the hackers stole money from the bank account, after that they were told that the ship which transporting apples to UK were sinking in the middle of the ocean and they had to dumped the apples to the ocean. It was a corruption and mismanagement from day one. Today that farm is abondoned and no one working that land.

@RenaldoGouws I don’t see anyone coming up with ideas on how to fix Joburg other than Helen. All Herman yaps on about is his hatred for his past masters and also his hate for undocumented immigrants. The alternative to DA is catastrophic collapse of local government

I think the most disappointing aspect here is that people bought into the idea of the GNU because what the DA was doing in opposition worked, and they thought that would translate into government. Now the DA is in government, and instead of taking the lessons it learnt and applying it they are just replicating what the ANC has done for the last 3 decades... but a little more efficiently. The best example of this is the party for decades speaking out against state control, and then the first important thing John does is... double down on state control. dailyinvestor.com/south-africa/1…

@RenaldoGouws You’re clearly biased these days. The digital transformation done by Leon Schreiber and team in DHA is groundbreaking. A major shift in efficiency and efficacy. So FMD is now John’s fault and the country’s resources are now all at his disposal to have sorted out the problem?
