I was having a clear out at the weekend and came across these. The very first code I ever wrote was in Algol 68 using these bad boys. Anyone else remember these?

Who needs viruses & adversaries like 🇷🇺 & 🇨🇳 when you have #Microsoft allowing kernel level access to anti-virus companies like #Crowdstrike? Governments, industry & businesses need to seriously reflect on the risk of using Microsoft! Linux is better & free, Mac is better still

@Plantyathome @wat_thee_deuce_ Unless you worked on the buses, or the trains that people lucky enough to have the say off used to get to see their family. Or the police, or the fire brigade, or medical emergency staff (and listen to the complaints cos you cant see a GP on a Sunday).

@wat_thee_deuce_ And that is where we went wrong,we allowed ourselves to be diddled out of a Sunday off,things still worked if you did work Sunday it was treble time in some places,Sunday was a day out or visiting family and you KNEW you had it come what may so you could make plans 🤔😉

Who remembers?

37 died in a nightclub at Denmark Place, Soho, London on August 16th, 1980. Sadly nobody cared, as most were immigrants from Colombia, Scotland & Ireland. You can't even find out nationality or age of victims in newspapers. I went through civil records to try change that. /1

As a particle physicist of 1990’s vintage it’s come as a huge shock to me today that the World’s critical IT infrastructure doesn’t all run on Unix and isn’t written in Fortran 77.
