Mark Carney announces a sovereign wealth fund: Canada Strong Fund. It seems like it will be opened for Canadians to invest in it as well. It's a good idea in general and many countries have a version of this. US under Donald Trump as well. I rather Canada take ownership stake in strategic projects than foreign countries. The problem is that Canada doesn't have "wealth" so the fund will be funded with more deficits, all while not getting rid of the red tape and rethoric that scares away private capital to begin with.
