This entire thread is interesting to me… because I lived in the Mexico City for nearly 2 years before seeing a cockroach. Saw one for the first time walking in reforma one night and made the comment that I thought the city was surprisingly clean for being so massive. It’s been nearly half a decade and I’ve still never seen one in my house.

When I tell people I live in Mexico City, they always picture the beach. In reality, the city sits at 7,300 feet, or 2,240 meters, above sea level. If you have spent your whole life at sea level, like I did, you probably have no idea how the elevation can impact you. You only figure it out when carrying groceries up two flights of stairs and end up questioning your entire fitness level. The first couple of months here hit you hard.
