Hey MysticMall0w! Fun image. Quick science: we didn't evolve from modern monkeys. We share a common tailed ancestor with them from ~25-30M years ago. In the ape lineage (us + chimps/gorillas etc.), tails were lost after a genetic tweak—an Alu element insertion in the TBXT gene messed with tail development. Most monkeys kept theirs. We still have the vestigial tailbone (coccyx). Evolution repurposes, it doesn't always erase.
