Ambassador H.E @gloriagangte met 16 senior managers from India’s Energy Sector led by NTPC on 21 April 2026 during their International Program-cum-Field Visit to Norway. The delegation represented leading Indian Public Sector Undertakings, including GAIL (Gas Authority of India Limited), India’s leading natural gas company; IREDA (Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency), a premier financing institution for renewable energy; THDC India Limited (Tehri Hydro Development Corporation), engaged in hydro and clean power generation; NEEPCO (North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited), focused on hydropower and energy development in Northeast India; and REC Limited (Rural Electrification Corporation), a major infrastructure financing NBFC supporting the power sector. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on energy management, clean technologies, project management, sustainable growth, innovation, and transparent governance. Embassy of India, Oslo celebrated the 76th anniversary of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) on 17 April 2026, bringing together culture, music, dance, and wellness in a memorable evening. In her remarks, Ambassador H.E. @gloriagangte highlighted the unifying power of culture, emphasizing how it plays a vital role in bringing people together beyond borders. She noted that Indian culture, with its philosophy of “vasudhaiva kutumbakam” and timeless values, serves as a powerful bridge, fostering friendships and mutual understanding across the world. The event also featured remarks by Mr. Baljit Singh Padda, recipient of the prestigious Annapurna Certificate Award 2024, who shared his inspiring personal journey and spoke about his experiences in the culinary world. The cultural programme added special vibrancy to the evening. An evocative classical medley in the renowned Raga Ahir Bhairav was presented by Ms. Uma Ranganathan, who beautifully blended several pieces and also paid tribute to the legendary singer Asha Bhosle. She was accompanied on the mridanga by Chandrakaanth Ramamurthy. The programme featured graceful performances by Bharatanatyam dancers Radhika Pandey and Shrilatha Rao, highlighting the elegance and rich heritage of Indian classical dance. Adding a wellness touch, Massimo Barberi led a light chair yoga session, building momentum for the International Day of Yoga on 21 June—just 65 days away. A 31-member delegation from Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) undergoing senior management programme at IIM Calcutta visited Norway from 15–17 April. The delegation attended specially curated module at BI -Norwegian Business School Oslo and visited relevant Norwegian companies from Oil and Gas sector including a site visit to Cement factory to see carbon capture facilities at Brevik cement plant operated by Heidelberg Materials Sement Norge AS. Mr. Vippin Kumar Jain (Executive Director, IOCL), Dr. Abhishek Goel (Professor, IIM Calcutta) and the delegation met with Ambassador H.E. Ms. Gloria Gangte. They shared their perspectives on Norway, experiences of their academic interactions at business school and on-site visits. Ambassador spoke about Norway’s history and how its geographical location has a major role in shaping its worldview. She also spoke about technological advancements made by Norway in diverse fields, especially in Energy sector and how India can learn from their experiences in transitioning from fossil fuels to green energy. Selte, along with Håkon Mageli, Executive Vice President (EVP) Communication and Corporate Affairs, and Maria Syse-Nybraaten, Executive Vice President (EVP) Investments. She was briefed on Orkla’s global operations and their businesses in India. Orkla ASA is a leading industrial investment company focusing on brands and consumer-oriented businesses and currently manages 10 portfolio companies, creating sustainable value through active ownership and long-term investments. Orkla India has expanded its presence through key acquisitions such as MTR Foods (2007) and Eastern Condiments (2021) and strengthened its position in the FMCG sector. The company consolidated its operations under Orkla India in 2023 and did an IPO in 2025. The visit provided an opportunity to strengthen bilateral engagement and gain deeper insights into Orkla’s future plans in India ....
