The hype around Hyperliquid isn't fading anytime soon; it's the first layer 1 blockchain focused on empowering crypto traders and expanding the frontiers of decentralised finance. A quick review of @HyperliquidX L1 blockchain. 🧵

As a photographer, I have learned that the most powerful people are often those who understand people, culture and history beyond the camera moments. Being part of Peter Obi’s envoy to South Africa gave me the opportunity to witness that firsthand. Listening to him speak about his long-standing relationship with South Africa, from his early business engagements with South African Breweries, to witnessing Nelson Mandela’s release from prison, and living in the same neighborhood at the time with Mandela, showed a man who genuinely understands the importance of relationships, diplomacy and African unity. What stood out the most was his belief in what Africa can become if we begin to work together intentionally as one continent. Conversations like these make you understand what his kind of presidency would mean for Nigeria, stronger economic partnerships, better international respect, healthier relationships across Africa, and a country that is once again seen as a serious and trusted voice on the global stage. For me, it was more than a trip. It was a reminder that leadership is also about experience, exposure, relationships and the ability to connect Nigeria to bigger opportunities across the world. #NigeriaWillBeOk

The decline in Nigeria's ginger exports—from ~N26.2 billion three years ago to zero by end-2025—was caused by a persistent fungal blight (tuber rot/ginger blight) that ravaged major producing states, slashing output by up to 74% in 2024 alone per NBS data. This created scarcity, driving domestic prices to N15.2 million (~$10k) per ton—5x the global average—making exports uncompetitive as supply was absorbed locally. Soaring input costs worsened it. Reports from BusinessDay and stakeholders highlight the need for disease-resistant varieties and support to recover.

They did a PRESALE, not an AIRDROP. Some users opted to lock their allocation for a year. On mainnet, some users decided to also lock their allocation to earn more tokens. The team started a token buy mechanism. Some users even bought more and staked it. Yet, it didn't stop the massive price decline. This situation is a clear message to pre-TGE founders out there: your launch mechanism isn't the major determining factor to a healthy chart; what real matters is the market demands for your token. Self-evaluate if the market really needs your token or if your product can capture value back for your users without a token. I mean, Pumpfun would still be Pumpfun without the PUMP token.
