Here’s a trick for building discipline
Every time you hear that voice in your head say “I’ll do it tomorrow”
That’s your signal to get it done now
Just do it on the spot, make that task a priority
Think of procrastination as a muscle
The more you use it, the stronger it gets
So push through that resistance and eventually you’ll be able to fly through your to-do list without hesitation
Try it

Emotions are energy in motion
You can’t sit about waiting for bursts of motivation
You need to take action and then the motivation follows
Most days I cba doing anything, I’m lazy AF at the core
But after I push myself to do 1 thing on my to-do list, all of a sudden I don’t need discipline to do the next thing
The momentum just flows
So stop waiting about for your emotions to suit your goals
You need to take action first 🔑

I’ve been chasing the markets like crazy this past week, completely trading my emotions and wrecking myself
The past few days I’ve studied trading psychology and learned that there are 4 main types of fear that appear in our trading:
1. Fear of losing
2. Fear of being wrong
3. Fear of missing out
4. Fear of letting a profit turn into a loss
The biggest breakthrough educational piece I learned was that “greed” is primarily infused by fear
Fear is the root cause of greed
Fear that you won’t make it, of what people will think/say if you have a losing day, don’t have what it takes, will never be consistently profitable etc
It’s those fears in the back of our minds that cause us to trade with emotion
“Scared money doesn’t make money”
Why?
Because when we are fearful, our emotional brain has hands on the steering wheel, not our logical brain
This is why we throw everything we’ve studied out the window in those moments, because fear has control, even when it does look like greed
Something that has helped me to gain control over my emotions is going back to journaling
I work hard and put a lot of energy into reaching my goals, so I find it challenging to just sit on my hands and wait for a set up, it makes me feel lazy
By journaling, it allows me to feel productive without actually risking my money by overtrading
Journalling isn’t a fun task and I go through phases of procrastinating on it, but I’ve reminded myself how valuable it is this week
Document your feelings, shine awareness on the impulsive patterns and find the root cause
Tip: recognise what that voice in your head is telling you and how you feel before you enter a trade
That will indicate which type of fear is driving your decisions
Hope this helps someone 🫶
