Roblox is removing cross-game gamepass sales and forcing a $5/month requirement just to donate, with a 1,000 Robux monthly limit. This will kill PLS DONATE. PLS DONATE is built around cross-game gamepass sales, a system that’s free for players and has no limits. Removing it doesn’t just change things, it kills the game completely. I wasn’t made aware of this change before it was announced. No warning, no chance to give my input or feedback before they announce this change. I’ve been developing on this platform since I was 12 and have always loved making games on Roblox, so seeing something this impactful happen overnight without real consideration is genuinely upsetting. This means a lot to me and I’m really sad about this. The solution Roblox gave us is the Transfer API, which really isn’t a solution and still affects us heavily. It’s locked behind a $5/month subscription, capped at 1,000 Robux per month, and under-18 users require parental approval for EVERY SINGLE transaction. That completely changes the experience. If transferring Robux is going to be paid, gamepasses need to coexist. Removing them ruins everything and doesn’t stop bad actors from just purchasing through the site anyway. It doesn’t make sense. I really don’t want to build hatred toward this platform. I love Roblox and still believe in it, and if it truly cares about its developers, I’m sure there are better solutions that keep users safe without killing our game. @Roblox @DavidBaszucki

@BarneyHunter12 @DavidBaszucki I get your point it hurts gameplay. But Roblox must follow COPPA since it has under <13 users, so stricter chat limits and age checks help keep users safe. I try trolling in café roleplays too, and it’s dead silence since most players are 13–15.

@DavidBaszucki Cool and all, but no matter how good the game is, if you can't talk to anyone thanks to the chat update, it makes the gameplay less enjoyable.

I agree with you, there are definitely games slipping through that should not be in the kids section. Ratings should actually mean something, especially for younger players. Right now it feels like the system relies too much on creators being honest, which does not always work. Some content clearly does not match the rating it is given. At the end of the day, Roblox should not leave this fully up to creators. They should use their own AI to scan and summarize game scripts and assets to detect anything inappropriate and assign a proper maturity rating automatically. (But it should be advanced professional smart AI.)

@Roblox_RTC I support these but they need to heavily moderate games that are allowed to go n the kids app. Games can currently give themselves whatever rating they want. So for excample there are games rated 5+ but have leingerie in the games. That is not appropraite for a 5 year old.

Roblox is releasing Roblox Kids (under 9), Roblox Select (9-15), and the standard Roblox (16+). This will roll out in early June and change how parental control works on that platform. Roblox Kids (<9) will have: - access to games with a Minimal or Mild content maturity label. - all communication disabled by default. Parents have the option to enable chat, however, it will be restricted to Trusted Friends & users under 13. Party chat will be unavailable. - a distinctive blue background. Roblox Select (9-15) will have: - access to games with a Minimal, Mild, or Moderate content maturity label. - for ages 9-12, users will have access to see experience chat, but unless a parent permits their child to use chat in-game, it is not enabled by default. If doing so, they can chat with users under 16 & Trusted Friends. They can use Party Chat for Trusted Friends or a group of six after receiving parental consent. Parents have the option to turn this off. - for ages 13-15, chat is enabled by default, text and voice chat options are also available. Users can chat with ages 9-17 or Trusted Friends. - a distinctive visual treatment indicating account type. Roblox (16+) will have: - Visibility into friends, screen time, and spending until the user has reached the age of adulthood, which is 18. - Chat is on by default, unless banned in your region. - All content maturity labels, excluding Restricted. Users will automatically transition from Roblox Kids -> Roblox Select -> Roblox upon reaching the proper age. Roblox will not allow Roblox Kids & Select to feature games with sensitive issues, social hangouts, or free-form drawing games; however, parents can approve specific games that are otherwise unavailable to their child.

Dude, it's not even Roblox's fault. Because of COPPA laws, Roblox was required to add it. We can't do nothing about laws. Even you make filters or systems COPPA doesn't allow it anyways. Let's just say you have a multi-billionaire company that a platform like Roblox and have a lot of <13 kids and COPPA requires you to add Age Verification. If you don't add Age Verification to your platform, multiple states will sue you and fill out lawsuits. So, that's why Roblox cannot remove Age Verification. It doesn't even matter if Roblox adds filters or systems into it. Roblox has their own moderation filter you know. But, it is easily can be bypassed with exploits or special characters. Roblox AI sometimes can catch though. Don't blame Roblox, blame COPPA.

Creators will continue to earn the same amount as they do today when Roblox Plus users purchase in-game items, avatars, and more at a discount....
