Except that's not what I'm doing. You are defending people who Are using your experience as an excuse to Uber eats and door dash. They will use other people's disabilities to justify why they won't cook for themselves or go out to eat. They will justify it by claiming despite having to come home from work from somewhere else that they can't even get food on their way home even because it's just too much work. If they were just buying food it would be one thing, But they aren't so it isn't. They are spending money they don't have on the luxury they don't need then wonder why their food bill costs so much or like in the case of original poster, They bring up how much more money someone else is earning and using that to as an excuse for their failure

In 10 years we’re going to see posts criticising gen alpha for spending all their money on rice when sawdust is cheaper and just as filling

It is meant to be a flex. It is me explaining what actually poverty into near starvation is. You don't have to doordash a burrito for $28 or whatever the fuck you're spending because "woah is me I'm so poor. I can't afford to cook for myself" or "oh woah is me, I'm so overworked that I can't be bothered To cook for myself or take myself out to go eat or I don't know get something on my way back from work" My point is that those are excuses, weak excuses by people who want to weaponize suffering to excuse their own wasteful spending.

You are the problem. 2 years ago I was literally starving slowly as I could barely afford to feed myself and even then that was a stretch. I almost never ate out. I Subsisted off of stews that I would make once every few paychecks when I had saved up enough money because it was the most efficient way to get nutrients in my body for as cheap as possible. And I would buy pepperoni onion cheese singles and cracked wheat bread to eat a majority of the time to get myself through the weeks. I could not afford to doordash a $28 order. I am very aware of the cost of food, I have come to appreciate buying things of better quality. But personally, from all of us who have ever had to actually struggle, fuck off. If I'm going to eat out and eat something nice anymore, I still do it in a way to save money. If I don't have time to either make it or go out and get it, I don't have time to enjoy it. If you are going to waste money on a service that you do not need, don't bitch and moan about not having money. If you're going to bitch and moan about not having money, maybe listen to the advice people are telling you about not spending +40$ on something from McDonald's you had doordashed
