Yes, the Governor can ask Mamata Banerjee to resign - but cannot force it. And no, President’s Rule under Article 356 of the Indian Constitution isn’t triggered by refusal or politics - it needs a proven breakdown of constitutional machinery. Also, it doesn’t mean instant re-elections. 
Stop twisting the Constitution to fit a narrative.

Governor can maximum ask Mamata Banerjee to resign, but the Governor can never force her to do so. If Didi does not resign, the Governor can recommend President's rule. In that case, no political party will be able to remain as the ruler in Bengal. Again we have to face election in that case

“Didn’t lose, won morally, but won’t resign” - that’s some next-level scoreboard only visible in imagination 😄 When results don’t match the narrative, suddenly the Election Commission of India becomes the villain and “moral victory” becomes the trophy. By that logic, every losing side can just declare themselves winners - democracy would be chaos!
