@stuey_beef It's easy to stoke anger against Labour when you post a headline and assume most people won't think...

Morrisons just said the quiet part out loud. Around 100 convenience stores are now on the chopping block. Hundreds of jobs are at risk. And the reason given is not “greedy supermarkets”, not “corporate profiteering”, not “Tory austerity”, not any of the slogans Labour spent years throwing around. It is “significant cost increases resulting from Government policy choices”. That is corporate-speak for: Labour made it more expensive to employ people, more expensive to operate, and harder to keep marginal stores alive. This is the basic economic reality the Government pretends does not exist. You can raise employer costs and call it “fairness”. You can increase wage mandates and call it “growth”. You can load more regulation onto businesses and call it “responsibility”. You can demand lower prices at the till while making every input cost higher behind the scenes. But eventually the spreadsheet wins. And when the spreadsheet wins, shops close. Not the imaginary shops in a Treasury forecast. Real ones. Local ones. The ones people use for milk, bread, prescriptions, newspapers, top-up groceries and last-minute essentials. The ones staffed by people who do not have the luxury of working from home while lecturing everyone else about “resilience”. This is the part Labour never wants to own. Their policies are always sold as compassion. But the consequences are brutally practical. A store that was just about viable becomes loss-making. A worker who was just about employed becomes “at risk”. A community that had a local shop now has an empty unit with metal shutters. And then ministers will stand up and blame “global pressures”, “market conditions”, “corporate decisions” or “the legacy we inherited”. NO. Morrisons has named the problem directly: government policy choices. That phrase matters. Because it means this was not inevitable. It was chosen.

@TomK_Brit1993 @GaryGAKman Thick as mince is a perfectly common phrase, which I don't the James O,B has copyright to & is perfectly apt. He did coin 'compassion for the conned, contempt for the conmen' & I suspect you fall into the latter descriptor

Mainstream media are now trying to damage Nigel Farage by digging up a story about a £9,400 CCJ. I genuinely do not care. It's irrelevant to me and hardly groundbreaking news. Still voting Reform UK 🩵

Very insightful to see Rob Kenyon and Nigel Farage sitting in the work van having a proper chat. No scripts. No stage management. Just two people talking like normal blokes. You rarely see that in modern politics. There’s a huge effort to cancel Rob Kenyon, but videos like this remind people he’s simply a hardworking lad from Wigan who wants to make a positive change for Makerfield. That authenticity is exactly why Labour are worried.

I went out in the van with Cllr Rob Kenyon. This is his story.

I have warned repeatedly over many years about election fraud and always been ignored. The Gorton & Denton by-election was a disgrace, but at last there have been some arrests in Greater Manchester.

I have known Nigel Farage for 16 years. Let me just say this. The persecution of Nigel Farage regarding a £5 million personal donation that was made long before he stood at the last general election, in 2024, is OUTRAGEOUS. Here's the reality. Had the British state provided adequate PROTECTION then Nigel Farage would not need to personally fund what is a highly complex security operation. Nigel Farage is under constant threat for speaking the TRUTH about what is happening to our country, and for representing tens of millions of people the state would rather ignore. And now they attack him, and investigate him, for having to organise his own security - security they failed to provide! It speaks volumes, doesn't it, that even after two Members of Parliament have been assassinated, Nigel Farage still has to go it alone and fund his own security operation. #MattGoodwin

I couldn't give two shits or any shits where Nigel Farage got the money from to buy his house. Standard procedure for any conveyancing solicitor is to get your client to complete a proof of funds form and the client fills it in saying where the finance has come from - it's money laundering regulations. If there was anything untoward, the solicitor wouldn't have proceeded. But they did. And I'll put this out there: Every single politician in this country has taken money/gifts/second or third jobs while still being an MP. Every. Single. One. So stop focussing on Farage. They're all on the take. Tories. Labour. Green. Lib Dems and, yes, Reform too. Where's the outrage about the other MPs?

James O’Brien just went nuclear: “Farage is a massive coward.” Says he’s banged on about free speech for 12 years but won’t come on LBC, even tried pre-approved questions then still bottled it. Hear it for yourself 👇Cc: @politixintheuk @Nigel_Farage

I saw Nigel Farage doing a walkabout in Felixstowe recently. He had to have quite a few burly bodyguards. And despite this, some nutters managed to get through and kick his car so Nigel had to be bundled away by the security. This 24 hour 7 day a week security, for the rest of his life, doesn't just cost a couple of hundred quid a week. And it's shocking that any politician needs this because people don't know how to behave.

Crazy scenes on the streets outside Nigel Farage's £850k house in Clacton-on-Sea as the press fall over each other to ask him about: Who owns the house, and who paid for it. His £5m personal gift from a billionaire and other millions in party donations. His alleged pact with the same billionaire to fix an election that saw him and Johnson trouser £1m. Okay there's no one there, they're all prancing up and down Downing Street, doing what they are paid to do by other dodgy billionaires. #Farage #ReformUK

Under Labour, NHS waiting lists are falling, ambulances are arriving faster, there are more GPs, and higher patient satisfaction. Lots done, lots to do. The Health Bill will boost the impact of our investment and modernisation: cutting bureaucracy to invest in patient care.
