I honestly don't see anything that was said to warrant his banned, but it's Square-Enix call. Xenosys has always talked like this for years and nothing happened, so what has changed? Certainly someone found a loop hole to target his banned. To be real FFXIV community is very very very toxic and yes their is pettiness and fake smiles and fake positivity has really hurt the game and the community in general and I'm aware how this kind of behavior can also pull people away from the game. This is why many have stayed in FF11 because how toxic and fake people can be in the FF14 community. Majority of the harrasements and stalking comes from this game itself there is no denying it. Petty people even created a mod to find who's retainers belong to which character to harass them for undercutting. It's pathetic. Also it's terrible that we can't even express ourselves about crazy people who work at Square-Enix, because of big sissies who can't handle the steel of other people's vocabulary. I'm very discouraged to even continue with FF14. I'm good with FF11 as long they do not damage the game as they did with DawnTrail. Square-Enix really needs to get it together or kick rocks because by the end of the day people can and will move on to another gaming company who listen to player base feedback without attacking gamers. Like pearl abyss, why can't SE takes notes how well they are doing?

@yuliexe FFXI still has this even if retail has been updated with QoL changes. Classic WoW still scratches that itch as well. I actually went back to EQ P99 and it made me realize how challenging and meaningful the experience used to be. I wish we could see a modern MMO like that again.

@yuliexe I agree with you. There aren't many modern that are more about the journey and teamwork. FFXIV with XIV you can practically solo it, and gear barely matters until endgame where it's all about glam anyway. I miss the struggle and getting that 1 better piece of gear felt amazing

In the past, you could look at someone’s character and reliably identify their strength and achievements based on the way they were geared. This has been largely replaced in favor of cash shop items and bikini skins all while making the in-game drops look worse to push people towards swiping. Working hard on clearing difficult or sometimes simply repetitive content doesn‘t feel rewarding if all you get to show for it is some goofy title and all you get to flex with is your credit card. These days, MMOs are designed in a way that makes it possible for people to progress solo all the way. Plus, interacting with other players has been „optimized“ out to a point where most people would likely not be able to tell a difference if they were queued into a dungeon with AI bots. Some might even prefer it. To make things worse, MMOs started to introduce daily chores in an effort to increase player retention through psychological manipulation. Not only are daily quests repetitive and unfun, they prevent you from doing things you‘d rather do for the sake of „efficiency“. They also shift the mindset of the player base in a way that makes people impatient and irritable. Wiped on a boss once? Watch half your party rage quit because they need to clear it asap on as many characters as possible. MMOs have lost their identity as a massive world one can explore side by side thousands of other players and have turned into a glorified P2W queue simulator that has little to no appeal for new players that don‘t feel nostalgia for the „good old days“.

@KungTerry4real @MatthewMcCrell I thought the same thing. It's like...why? It's such a jarring scene to introduce a silly character during such an emotional moment. I felt like it would have been better served as a flash back after the team finds out his real identity.

@MatthewMcCrell This is another detail that proves to me that they are making the remakes expecting players to have already played the OG. To FF7 fans we know who this is when we see him. I can't imagine the confusion a brand new player has seeing some random cat with a crown at the plate fall
