Thought experiment: Imagine you live in a developing country with an ongoing severe currency devaluation problem. You want to sell your existing home, hold it in some stable liquid value, and then probably buy a different home in 2 years. What do you hold it in?

More bad news for US manufacturers from...US manufacturers. Empire Fed dropped again w/shipments index falling by almost 20 pts. Backlogs almost gone, new orders not coming in. So, companies will start looking at their workers, who have less and less to do.

@victorJ0NES @jam_croissant @tastytrade @CVecchioFX Newbie question: why he suggests shorting 10yr, and long the 2 yr? If yield is inverted doesn’t it mean 2 yr yields are higher than 10yr yields? Thus 10yr bond price will go up and 2 yr bond prices will go down?

As we delegate more and more decisions to AI/ML, we may find ourselves in a society where rules and data-driven heuristics are being applied literally, without regard for their purpose. I expect that we will softly push back against it, until we too forget the purpose.

Many problems seem to come from the literal application of a rule while forgetting the purpose of the rule. The purpose of a rule should always override the rule itself. It's useful to come up with rules for yourself (shortcuts), but remember the first principles...
