there’s probably lead in all the pretty plates i buy from shein and taobao but yknow what … there’s lead in chocolate and i still eat that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

today i decided to experiment with the leftover clams & make a malaysian-style spaghetti alle vongole. i swapped the chilli for sambal belacan & finished it with spring onions instead of parsley it turned out just how i imagined: funky, oceanic, briny, spicy & full of umami ~

ordered a claypot a few days ago and finally it arrived … so yknow i had to make claypot rice !! tastes just as good homemade as it does when i order from my favourite hawker stall (honestly even better) claypot rice + lap cheong + marinated chicken + salted fish + spring onion

@hatehate4lif3 yesss of course !! it wouldn’t be claypot rice without the crust ^.^ you can see in the third pic the bottom of the bowl with the crunchy rice layer

@NotUrKev ohhh it seems to be the same taste as the ones we have in malaysia. ours are much darker red so i thought maybe they’re different

@ilovemcgriddle Super crunchy and incredibly juicy. They have a mild, gentle sweetness and a texture close to a very crisp pear. Because they are mostly water, they are the perfect refreshing snack for a hot day out here.
