@TheCinesthetic Stanley Kubrick was a better director than Robert Duvall's an actor. Not taking anything away from Duvall here. He's iconic. But with all due respect. Kubrick's a director's idol, and a film-making legend and creative mastermind. Duvall's not an actor's idol in the same way.

The Adventures of Tintin was meant to launch a trilogy. Peter Jackson was set to direct the sequel, with Spielberg staying on as producer. Script drafts existed. Motion capture pipelines were ready. The follow up has been quietly stalled for over a decade.

@uniquemoviemom this is the epitome of the scenes that made no sense but where put in to look cool. dumb and dumber were more concerned with looking cool that telling a good story. they even admitted in an interview that the didnt really understand the books.

@BelAves @TheCinesthetic they admitted they didnt understand the books. they didnt know what they were doing. they oversimplified the adaptation. they took out so much and added useless things that went no where. the show was huge but could of been bigger if was run by competent show runners

@TheCinesthetic Which also sadly proclaims their miss in the final season. Our first images were not Starks or Lannisters or Dany, it was the effect of the existential threat to humanity. Kings and Queens come and go, it is a Game. The White Walkers were no game.

The opening of Game of Thrones (2011) is one of the greatest cold opens in TV history. It was so effective that HBO executives reportedly knew they had a phenomenon on their hands before the title sequence even rolled.

Nearly 90% of the original pilot episode had to be completely reshot because, despite the opening being effective, the rest of the episode was confusing. Crucially, viewers didn't realize that Jaime and Cersei were twin siblings in the first version, making Bran's fall a simple affair instead of an incestuous conspiracy.

Watching #AlienEarth and it's nice to see characters that are level headed and with a good sense of agency for a change...and not 'scientists' lacking even the most basic common sense. Just sayin' 😂
