The arc of resolve is much longer than the trend of dilemma. e.g. The "trendy" research and commentary on lots of ethical debates take at least ~10 years before anyone goes "Hrmm Maybe we can apply this now" but in the meantime you get retard shi. But resolve is inevitable and priced in

there’s rarely any resolution to moral or political dilemmas, usually some third even stupider thing happens and everyone loses interest. the culture lives in a state of edged dialectic most of the time, synthesis never arrives

It is fucking ridiculous given the state of mass [digital] surveillance. The notion of privacy in the 21st century is a JOKE. Below are some poorly examples for anyone who might be interested to know why. hardware level: exploiting JTAG (IEEE standard) debugging protocol was "routine" back in 2008, JTAG has been standard since 1990!; NSA's domestic fiber-tapping program (STELLAR WIND) began within weeks of September 2001, copying internet traffic at the source; IME with every intel x86 cpu since 2006, PSP in AMD since 2013, mandatory on every cpu since ~2016; NSA TAO firmware-resident (invisible) spyware on hard drives; and so on. A company selling your data isn't a problem. Snowden's leaks in 2013 already showed the government has had tech corps' full cooperation since 2007 when PRISM initiated with Microsoft. Google & Facebook were added in 2009, Apple in 2012. Since Snowden's leaks, PRISM has only grown in scale. Then, of course, there is also STELLAR WIND, and all of the other nasty shit which EO 12333 has maintained. This shit started with Reagan in 1981, was amended by Bush in 2008 and expanded again under Obama in 2016. Bush, with PATRIOT Act, is the most culpable... Him and the lowly American People Palantir, of course, has made good business of processing and analyzing all of the data which even the NSA couldn't handle over the past few decades. So now a lot more of this stuff is actionable intel. Consider also that SpaceX's top customers are the Space Development Agency, National Reconnaissance Office, and U.S. Space Force... the NRO's director explicitly states that Starlink and Starshield satellites are the next step in GLOBAL recon and surveillance. It cuts surveillance target identification time to seconds and tracks physical movement globally. no internet required. Google this shit and your jaw will drop. It's out of a sci-fi movie and all REALL!!!! It's not schizo shit. in terms of what's known: SpaceX signed a classified $1.8B contract with the NRO and launched HUNDREDS of the Starshield surveillance satellites in 2024. whilst the "normal" Starlink satellites already have remarkably capable sensor payloads for intel Best practice is to just live an open-source lifestyle. Assume that people ARE watching. because they are.! and know that the only secrets you can keep are the prayers between you and God. Anything else simply cannot be sequestered

People always ask me if I “sell their data” when they find out I have an app… First of all, no. Second of all, why would you care? Like literally what consequence of me selling data are you worried about? I genuinely don’t understand why this is a fear.

@anonpriestess Any serious phi major worth their weight in salt knows better than to use real buzzwords. One ought to come up with or identify their own smart-sounding bullshit then treat it like a buzzword. That way nobody can press you like this
