Out in Nature Human Behaviour 🔥 Can people tell true from false news? Yes! Our meta-analysis shows that people rate true news as more accurate than false news (d = 1.12) and were better at spotting false news than at recognizing true news (d = 0.32).

By exaggerating the dangers of digital communication environments for democracy, we might end up damaging the very thing we wish to protect. The stories we tell about digital media and their role in democracy and society matter. We need to choose well and choose responsibly.

Mindblowing. Showed this to students, they were 🤯🤯😲😲. If you haven't tried it, take 5 minutes, have a look. It's free, and we, in Hong Kong, are GPT/AI blocked, so this solves 2 major issue for students in HK wanting to leverage AI for super easy data analysis. Brilliant.

🧵 New WP 🧵 Should AI-generated content be labeled as such on social media? We show that these labels would have detrimental consequences on harmless AI content and would be less effective than false labels in preventing the spread of false news. osf.io/preprints/psya…

I knew scientists were territorial but this is next level. Remember Katalin Karikó, the unsung hero of mRNA vaccines? Her advisor Robert Suhadolnik tried to have her deported when she accepted a competing offer in another lab.
