A CPC social media influencer accosted me earlier over this post at CSFN, accusing me of trying to "create a narrative." Naturally, this was followed by the usual intellectual heavy artillery: calling me a Carney shill and declaring I have no "journalistic integrity," and that I'm a "gatekeeper," of the Canadian media. I had to remind him I've never worked for the Canadian media and I have never received any government subsidy, or handout. All this over the fact I attended a public event, took photos, and shared my observations online, something literally anyone in the room could have done. He proceeded to tell me the social media panel was poorly attended only because it was scheduled after lunch. I guess what he was saying is that the mediocre food was better than what was going on in the conference room. What stood out about his reaction was the paranoia and insecurity behind it. These are the brave CPC social media influencers, who can't stomach an iota of truth telling, they're thin skinned, and massively insecure. They care about monetization on X and other platforms but that does not win elections for the CPC.
