I sometimes PITY President William Ruto! My beloved president is caught between a rock and a hard place! If he BORROWS, he attracts lynching from the public. If he TAXES, he receives a thorough beating! How can Ruto deliver on his promises without borrowing or taxing? If they don't, education, security, education, infrastructure, and counties will halt! Again, I believe William Ruto is the best president at the wrong time; all debts that Uhuru Kenyatta borrowed in his 10 years most started falling due in 2023; a case in point is the $2 billion Eurobond. The worst of it all is that people don't understand that Ruto is borrowing to repay interest on loans that are maturing. For instance, in the financial year 2023-2024, the government paid a total of KES 1,4000, 000,000,000 of public debt against a total borrowing of KES 1,200, 000,000,000. Someone help me. How are we supposed to go about it without borrowing or widening our tax base?
