My life goals, in order: 1. Help people recover a quieter, more rooted Christian life. 2. Sell T-shirts on the boardwalk. Still working on both. Welcome to the journey.

Psalm 84 is one of my favorite Psalms. It was my meditation this morning. This line stood out to me. I once identified as a spiritual pilgrim. A few years ago, I reflected on this. Maybe that is who we are all to be.

“I admire the people who go way in. But I wish they would not forget how it was.” I heard in that moment “Thats who you are and will be.” I want to hear your memories.

How old were you when you first heard God? I asked myself this. I believe I was in 3rd grade. Our Children’s leader read “I stand by the door” by Sam Shoemaker. I had forgotten most of it. Except: “I stand by the door. I neither go to far in, nor stay to far out...”

I walked by this sign yesterday. I didn’t even think about it. I walked by today and it stopped me. It felt like God was whispering. Maybe Holy Spirit is saying this to all of us.

@RTB_HRoss With our current political climate, and economy realities, which one do you suspect I should start over on? :-/

So far, astronomers have discovered 16 planetary habitable zones + 5 galactic habitable zones (see mdpi.com/2077-1444/16/1…). Now astronomers have discovered a chemical habitable zone where a planet's core formation must be fine-tuned to ensure both nitrogen & phosphorus are available for life to originate & survive (see nature.com/articles/s4155…). For a planet to be truly habitable it must simultaneously reside in all 22 habitable zones.

@MikeWingerii I think it is truth. Truth can be divisive. It is not divisive in the let’s create disunity motivation, but within the realm of reality. It is merely an observation.

Is it divisive to say that Sid Roth constantly platforms and monetizes liars while deceiving his audience and fleecing the flock? Is it divisive even if it’s true? I ask because it’s true.

Mark and avoid. Jonathan Roumie spoke at Rededicate 250 and he said he had a “soul fusion” with Jesus. Soul fusion refers to a profound spiritual concept where two souls, or a person’s ego and their higher soul, entangle to become a single, unified energy. “Playing Jesus has allowed me to have this sort of soul fusion with Jesus in a way I never thought I’d experience.”

@amtrak.com So, we are on train 19. The AC hasn’t worked since DC. I have health issues. You are going to make this right? It’s a long way to Atlanta without A/C. And an expensive trip for such accommodations and no follow up from the conductor.

@alisa_childers There is no humility in many platformed personalities. It is one of the biggest threats to Christianity.

The loneliness epidemic is real. The church has an answer — but only if we're intentional about it. Retention metrics or prophetic welcome? There's a difference. McIntosh gets closer to the right answer than most. Review up now. #BookReview jeffmclain.com/connecting-peo…

Time away is often a good time to pray & process. — Safe travels (diabetes makes trips more complicated) — Peace for my family at home — Ears open to God on some current discernments — Time for my doctoral project — For the conversations to happen, even on the road

I am heading to Atlanta on Tuesday for the final gathering of the yearlong Compelling Preaching Cohort from Point University. A few years ago, I made a commitment to always be learning. 3 master's degrees, several cohorts, and a DMin later, this is the end of the season.

@GeorgePlasterer @dualravens Kairos is a unique model. I finished two degrees at Fuller Seminary, and then went to Kairos. It is affordable and customizable. I am grateful for my DMin journey. The model, not the name, notoriety, or professors, is carrying its growth.

@dualravens thanks for the information. I imagine the decline was so much because it had gotten large. Being from Asbury, I am glad to see it is to the plus. You would be a good addition there. I had not heard of Kairos.

Sad reality about Fuller. But not at all surprising. I say that as someone with 2 degrees and 15 years of teaching there in full time and part time roles. I still align with what Fuller says it is in its mission and other official statements. But I have felt like an outsider for that for a while. I have lots of informed opinions about why I think the decline happened, and actually might be encouraged by some there, but don't feel a need to share them publicly.

What seminaries are growing? Which ones are declining? I compared the 2024 data from ATS to the same data from 2007 below. Midwestern Baptist is up 290% United Theological is up 244% Southwestern Baptist is down 46% Fuller Theological is down 63%

1 Thessalonians 4:11 says make it your ambition to lead a quiet life. That's not passive, but a way of resistance. In a world built on personality, performance, and platform— choosing the quiet way of life is one of the most countercultural things a follower of Jesus can do.
